XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
That kind of question is a softball, the responder can say anything that he thinks will get him the most votes. Records, OTOH, speak for themselves and must be defended or explained.
WOO HOO.....I did it:) Ok, now to the point. See that black whatever inside the circle? That is what he is holding IN his hand. Because it is so dark there, means that it is actually very light...like white.
I took the picture someone else posted earlier and put it in photo editor and posturized it and this is what I got.

Thanks, I got it, finally. Sheesh it wasn't that long ago that I made web pages the old fashioned way....on Microsoft notepad:) Then I went and posted my explanation twice.....how embarassing;/ Oh well at least everyone can see what I am talking about. Thanks for your help everyone. Sorry I made a mess....
Good work!
Your good, just a trip to th HTML sandbox may help.
Thanks for the post and the picture.
Well not always, the more sadistic engineering professors would let you have them, and then make the problems on the test that much harder. In math science and engineering, the raw facts won't get you so terribly far. Doesn't apply to this case of course, since the rules, agreed to by both parties, said no notes.
We just need ONE MSM source to ask the question and play the video and Kerry is sunk! Anyone holding their breath?
Maybe the Clintons will call in a favor and have this aired.... Hmm...
In that clip Bush can be seen picking up a pen from the podium, clicking the ball point out and then scribbling something on the pad provided. (Probably to be sure the pen worked).
Re: #1,033
Bush picked up the pen on the lectern, removed the cap, and put the cap back on the other end of the pen, then put his hand down in a ready position. That is what the video is showing.
deny, deny, deny - spin, spin, spin ...
Didn't Drudge say that the Kerry people are saying it was a pen, not that he himself thought so?
"Baggy eyed Bolshevik" ;)
HannaUSA, Hey WA girl - nice to see you getting around FR so well. Even posting graphics! BUMP :)
Amazing that a gal from WA can do such a thing huh:))
I don't think, based on Bush's performance that anyone was feeding him anything, including dinner;/
