XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
I'm assuming that you've retracted your "so what?" Welcome back from your short foray to the dark side.
That's a good shot, it's an index card..
Yeah that doesn't look like a pen. But that motion that some people have said looks like an unwrapping of paper is him putting the cap on a pen.
This guy's a real sham I'll tell you.
Another thing will be to look at him during the debate as if he is 'reading anything'.
Finally, there was a crew that went up there right afte the two families had shaken hands, to secure the podiums. If that scrap of crib paper was left there (a long shot) I'd wager that good money could be offered on E Bay for it.
There used to be consequences for cheating, back in the Dark Ages.
Ted Kennedy was even kicked out of Harvard for some such behavior. (Which I'm sure he hopes everyone has forgotten.)
But now, anything goes.
Breaking one of the agreed-upon rules in a presidential debate? Less than nothing today in certain segments of the population.
I just looked at the video you posted. There is no way that is a pen. Check out the whole video, especially toward the end. He lifts up the object he took out of his jacket over the side of the podium and it is rectangular and flat. No way that's a pen.
Msg # 845 He was real prepped and he played Bush and I cant believe Bush allowed him to do that ..I'm still sick over it and at a loss to explain what happened..
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
LOL. If you're a republican, you've got a lot of explaining to do.
Come clean now, admit your leftist leanings and begone.
When I speak in a formal setting, I make almost the same identical motions to retrieve a small set of 3 x 5 cards from my inside coat pocket.
Perhaps Kerry did the same, not thinking, and pulled out some "leftovers" from another speech. I'm not making excuses, just saying the movements weren't necessarily rehearsed.
Some of you keep posting that it was no big thing that SKery placed something on the podium. However, whatever it was that he put on the podium gos to the heart of Skerry's credibility. I was taught in elementary school it was cheating to have crib sheets in an exam. SKerry was supposed to have nothing but as an elitist, rules of fair play do not apply to him. SKerry thinks Bush is a commoner with less than average intelligence but still SKerry in his arrogant view, gets to decide what is cheating and what is not. Thats just the way liberals view life. About the way CBS viewed the phony memos. They weren't true but that doesn't matter.
add a briefcase with Sandy Berger papers stuffed into it, and put it in sKerry's hand...!
Check out post 1014..... does not look like pens to me...
"I just reviewed my tape of the debate. Clearly shows Kerry taking something out of his right coat pocket. Bush is NEVER seen taking any thing out."
Umm.. a friend of mine just sent me the following link.....

Take a look at Bush on the left.
Either
1) That idiot Matt Drudge was set up.
2) He's in on it.
He did not pass the FR "not a troll" test. I.e., he was a newbie, and two, under "In Forum", he showed similiar rabble rousings and one liners on FR. Nothing posted of any length nor containing conservative thought.
Good question. What's HE unfolding?
To the point where we need to monitor the mountain to be sure some Soros employee doesn't try to encourage it to do so.
I was watching the debate on cspan, they had the split screen for the whole debate.
Kerry kept scribbling away while the President would talk.
I couldn't believe all the writing he was doing.
He was probably scratching away on the paper he brought in, while reading it. My take anyway.
Msg # 853 I was walking around my studio with my hands on my head , screaming at the TV .It was bomb for us .
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Uhm, your studio? Was that at NBC or ABC or CBS or PBS or where?
You are so pessimistic you can't be 'main stream Republican' by any stretch of the imagination.
BUSH DID NOT BOMB. BUSH DID NOT 'LOSE.'
I think he saw what Kerry had done and was deciding whether to remark on it or not. He took the HIGH road (the one that JFKerry doesn't know exists) and did not say anything. He doesn't have to. WE WILL.
So, who are you, really? Which studio again????
