XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
Your extremely negative unconstructive points prompted me to review several of your posts. Have a little more faith. I think President Bush could have done better, but he did not blow it. Even the dnc thought it was a draw.
A new scandal.
Cheatnote gate!
That's different, he's not "their guy".
Actually, on replay it appeared to me that POTUS shook his hand and then walked away, sKerry was doing something else and Leher actually stood and waited for sKerry to turn his way and then shook hands, said something that made Leher laugh and wink and sKerry and then he walked away...
Whole different thing .This is Kerry himself .You really think he'd take a shot like that , on a stage full of cameras and hands ? He'd risk everything he ever did , bring down the ENTIRE Dem (commie ) party in full blown disgrace live on TV in front of the world, risk getting caught with the goods RIGHT IN HIS HANDS!! hoping to God that no one saw him take it backstage and put it in his jacket , hoping to God that no one would see him pull it out at just the right angle to cover it ? Really out there man . He was real prepped and he played Bush and I cant believe Bush allowed him to do that ..I'm still sick over it and at a loss to explain what happened..
Unlike you, i do not believe that Bush lost the debate and most who viewed the same event as I have the same view.
Kerry was a better debater, but Bish picked up points after the debate, not Kerry. Read the Gallup Poll posted on Friday here at FR.
Much too smooth on TOO many points!
Dabate cheat gate?
I would add one more thing.. there are "network" trolls reading these posts nowdays and they are reporting what we say on the news... beware we don't undermine POTUS with comments that we may take as a joke but have reported as fact in the mainstream media... for example a LOT of Freepers didn't vote Thurday evening -- this morning on the Sunday shows it translated (via Joe Trippo) that the Dems were fired up after the GREAT job sKerry did and a million and a half voted all the polls while the Republican Bloggers were all sooooooo disheartened by the lousy performance turned in by the President that few bothered to vote for their man and now the Dems are convinced this is how it's going to go at the polls on November 2nd....
this would seem academic to me and anyone who watched ( i mean seriously watched ) the so-called "debate". john (french) kerry was smiling and scribbling at the podium for the duration of the event. as an aside, i never had the feeling that our President was losing...he was clear, concise and to the point. i was surprised to hear the next morning that he had "lost".
Yea , the debate reads better than it was viewed on TV ..Just remember , who can remember on ething that was said during the Nixon /Kennedy debates..But the tide was turned by how Nixon "came off" on TV .You know the difference , I know the difference but to A LOT of people Bush looked and "came off " horribly and that did damage to us whether or not you'll admit it .. Im sick over it .I've YET to hear anyone explain fully why he let SO MANY lies and bullsh*t points just slide righ tby .Bush had 5 or 6 chances to pout Kerry away and put the election in his pocket and he didnt. I was walking around my studio with my hands on my head , screaming at the TV .It was bomb for us .
The questions were formatted to fit within the Kerry campaign rhetoric. Nothing new for Kerry to answer, so I can see why he would have the false appearance of being knowledgable. I do find it hilarious that the EU suggested W follow Kerry's advise on Iran, and then Iran came out and told Kerry to pound salt - they wouldn't subject themselves to foreign supplies of nuclear material.
That kinda made my day.
You got it, way to smooth, he transitioned right into the next topic as if he knew, because he did.
So, crib sheets and notes are totally useless to students unless they already know the questions? All the time we spent begging our professors to allow us crib sheets was useless? That's a new one on me.
Especially in light of how flustered, confused, twisting her did when he was interviewed a couple of days prior by Diane Sawyer. She had him asking which end was up and a good commentator Thursday evening would have, too... unless... the whole thing between then was pre-orchestrated.
You have the goods on sKerry. Good detective work!!
Donna Shalala runs the school.
Don't think for a minute those tickets went anywhere but to the hard core left.
"I've YET to hear anyone explain fully why he let SO MANY lies and bullsh*t points just slide righ tby"
His ONLY opponent for President of the greatest country in the world cheated in the debate, in front of 62,000,000 people and GWB knew he cheated.
That would throw ANYONE off their game.
