Renowned as a strong closer, John Kerry will need a stellar performance in the presidential campaigns final month if he is going to win Ohio.
President Bush has opened a 7-point lead, 51 percent to 44 percent, in a new Dispatch Poll, conducted almost entirely before Thursday nights debate in Florida.

Woo hoo. We need to finish up with a strong close on election day at the polls.

Great news.
I want to see polls showing President Bush ahead in Ohio, PA, Wisconsin, Florida, and Minnesota.

So much for Lurch winning the debate - which he didn't.

You see all you need to do is take the Global Test... Once you take that test you can plainly see who should be President. Didn't our founding fathers write the Constitution for the United States so that we wouldn't have to submit to Global Tests... hmmmm

This race is not as close as it is being portrayed to be.

I posted it because although it was taken prior to the debate, it is front page news in Columbus TODAY.

The poll included Thursday and Friday (the same days included in Newsweek's bogus poll)!
NOTE: I spent most of yesterday joining dozens of other volunteers in making hundreds of calls for the OHIO RNC and can definitively state that NO ONE we spoke with had changed their vote based on Thursday's debate.
Republicans are still STRONGLY supporting President Bush and the Undecideds claim they will wait until the last week of the campaign before making a final decision (35% of the TINY number of 'undecideds' are leaning toward President Bush, 35% toward Kerry and 30% are just plain clueless)!

Only if you think Kerry's performance was so amazingly, historically steallar that he wiped out an eleven point lead in Ohio. Otherwise it's an important trend-indicator.
I don't see anyone dancing in the streets about Kerry surging. No one, even most dems, are aware of the stacked Newsweek poll.
Kerry won the debate, but that's like saying he had a single good rally. This election wasn't hinging on that or any debate. Not this year--the stakes are too high.

Great news and still worth posting. Thanks. I don't believe the debate changed many minds at all, so this result will hold. Ohio is staying in the Bush fold this year, Thank God. We have to make sure Florida stays too, and I believe it will.

Conducted before the "debate?" Sorry, this is at best out of date in a rapidly changing dynamic and is probably meaningless.

We have to make sure Florida stays too, and I believe it will. In practical terms, Kerry must have Ohio or Florida to win. If we hold both, the President wins re-election.
