I did not watch the debate. I listened to it on the radio, and I felt Bush had done a very good job when it was over. He didn't let Kerry get away with anything. Then I listened to people call A Ft. Lauderdale radio station ( a dem town) and they were overwhelmingly praising Bush. So, I am not going to be bothered by liberal media bias which wants to perpetuate the illusion of a horserace, at a minimum.

It sure would be nice if we could automatically have all those MSM asses who force excerpting come up with the autocomment "Against freedom of information."

Just remember the Reagan/Mondale debates. Reagan, like Bush, was sometimes a slow starter. W will shine in the next debates, as Reagan did.

Ditto. And he wants to rid the world of nuclear weapons by setting the example. Sounds like his plans during the 1980's.

Did he really say that? That really MUST be included in any email that circulates about Kerry's lies in this debate. Where has that thread started? A direct quote from Weld is where?

He stood his ground while kerry flailed away. Kerry came across as mean and negative, bush came across as composed and presidential.

Thats a crock. I support Bush and he came across as defensive, mean, and in the split screen it was evident that Kerry was pissing him off. He was visibly angry but not able to direct his anger in suitable ways. I will admit if you were listening on the radio he came across much stronger there than on TV.

thanks for sharing that... i was wondering how it came across on radio... friends who watched with me were not impressed with Kerry, and didn't think Bush was bad... i tend to want Bush to over-compensate for the liberal media spin... it's like i think he needs to be twice as good to get a fair shake...

maybe you are right... I think Kerry won the debate, but there is absolutely nothing that could ever make me even consider the thought of not being disguisted by him. I was dissappointed in Bush, because I think he could have nailed Kerry's a$$ to the wall.

My point is that the ONLY thing he EVER says, about "bringing in our allies and the UN" is a non-starter

Unfortunately Bush got so flustured that he never brought that point up. Many of his best arguments never got mentioned.

The DU has had nothing else to turn to but to influence on-line poles because their candidate is in trouble. Yesterday Bush lost a election pole by a huge margin on a CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN website. Yeah, that's accurate.

I think that GW and his team decided to let Kerry just go for it during the first 2/3's.

Remember the Republicans have fact checkers vetting every answer, response and utterance that Kerry made tonight.

We will see many of those answers, responses, and utternance in hard hitting ads for our side.

This will set the stage for debates 2 and 3. If Kerry repeats himself re bad answers, responses and utterances in debate #2, he will have defeated himself with his own mouth. Kerry's responses will become great ads for GW.

Sen. John Kerry 78% 151129 votes
Evenly matched 4%

7912 votes
Total: 193632 votes

I was listening on the radio- had other work to do. Thought there weren't supposed to be any reaction shots?

I love President Bush. My problem tonight was his missed opportunities - why didn't he point out that Kerry's Senate voting record has always been against strong national defense and intelligence? I think if President Bush would have hammered at that, maybe this election would indeed be over.

Cheer up my friends to all that think debate went bad. Kerry solidified himself as the anti iraqi war canidate. Now ads will run with Guiliani, mcain etc.. from convention talking about iraq will run. he put himself in corner like a rat to grab his base.
