The Dimwits are going to try to steal this election. Considering, most of them don't even like Kerry, it's amazing.

That bothers me.

I hope the GOP has been working hard on getting absentee ballots out.

Requesting an absentee ballot and returning an absentee ballot are two different things. This is pure posturing on the part of the DIMS.

Most polls show President Bush with a small advantage here (a Mason-Dixon survey, reported last week, had him up, 48 percent to 42 percent...

small advantage, 48 - 42???

If sKerry was leading, 48 - 42 it would be described as a "decisive lead".

Under Iowa law, anyone can request an absentee ballot, no questions asked, and roughly three times as many Democrats as Republicans did so in the counties studied by The Register.

FWIW

One reason Mr. Gore may have run better among absentee voters, Mr. Vilsack speculated, was that most of them did not witness what were widely considered lackluster showings by the vice president in that year's debates. This may not be a bad thing for our team. The Prez is riding high in the polls right now so, it's a good time for people to vote.

This is one thing that scares me about the election.

In 2002's Michigan governor's race, we got our ass kicked by the absentee votes. It was a large part of the difference, if not all of it.

I got one of those recored message calls telling me that the 'Rats (MoveOn, Americans Coming Together, etc...) are behind a move to get people to vote absentee, and act as the courier to return the ballots - and the call suggested to only return the ballot yourself, in person, or mail it yourself if voting absentee - and not to trust the 'Rats and their stooges.

Hard to "witness" a debate while already buried six-feet-under.

Note the word "after" here: "Mr. Kerry won the caucuses this year after Howard Dean faltered and Representative Richard A. Gephardt's broad labor support proved insufficient..."

I've always wondered if there was something fishy in how Kerry won Iowa. Dean hadn't yet faltered and Gephardt hadn't proved anything when Kerry suddenly turned out the winner.

I lived in Iowa and still have a lot of family there. There are a lot of yellow dog Dems there and this would not surprise me at all. The only hope is that Kerry keeps running so far to the left even they will be offended.

Just the right thread to post the links to download the absentee forms for Texas Sec of State. Please ping any and all lists you have for Texas FReepers.

Form Index

Go to the 4th form, which is the "Application for Ballot by Mail". After completing the ballot, send it to the Early Voting Clerk for your precinct. You can get the address from the Voter Information @ 1-800-252-8683. This may take quite a while, as I was on hold for about 15 minutes.

So Mr. Kerry is well known to Iowa's electorate, perhaps as well known as Mr. Bush.

Mr. Kerry isn't even well known to Mr. Kerry ("If it's Tuesday, I must be anti-war"). How can Iowans presume to "know" him at all?
