The rally took place at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio, today. Sean Hannity interviewed several people who were there. The number of people who had tickets was over 60,000, and even more showed up. Hannity said it was the largest political rally in Ohio's history, and one of the largest ever. Enjoy the pics:
This was in Xenia, Ohio, where the bus stopped so the president could greet people:
This next one of the president stopping his bus to greet crowds on the roadside reminds me (in a happier way) of the crowds that lined the route for President Reagan's funeral. Same kind of love and respect for our Dubya as they showed for our Ronnie.
Eyewitness account. This rally was held about 2 miles from my house - I walked to it. Went with my brother, his son, and my wife. The crowd was immense. We got through the last security checkpoint at 2PM and then wound around in a big line of people to get to the stage area, in front of the old Voice of America broadcast center.
When I arrived there were easily 25,000 people there, as all the space in front of the stage was taken, so we filled in the sides. Gates closed at 3:30PM, but people continued to stream in until right before W spoke, as they were clearing out a holding pen they'd set up inside security that could hold a ton of people.
W came in on the bus, left on the mobile version of Marine 1, a nicely painted Blackhawk. The chopper did a victory lap around the crowd, 'cause there ain't no Queda boys in SW Ohio. W looked well rested, ready for the debate, and focused on the job at hand.
What picture are you looking at where you can see the entire crowd?
You're right. I am surrounded by Democrats here in Connecticut and I see them beginning to move to Bush...they are upset about John Kerry's lackluster and desperate campaign and they will vote for Bush...not even holding their noses. We need some polls in Connecticut...I bet that the margin is between 4 and 6 points.
Me too. I'm working at the local campaign HQ where I live as if we were 6 points down. Not taking anything for granted.
Yes, crowds of 60,000 plus are sending a message loud and clear to "Lurch." In words that he can understand they are saying: "Bring it on. Dubya is going to rip your hide off on Thursday night.
When the bright spot lights go on he is going to be sweating bullets on stage. With torrents of perspiration running down the side of his face he is going to look guilty. The truth is, he is guilty. Guilty of Treason!
I added a couple of more photos for USA_Soccer.
in other news...
Snicker...
I really hope Kerry and Edwards get about 60,000....VOTES!
Look what "our" Butler Co did for the Pres today!! WOWOW!!
Did anyone else notice the SS guy who kept his hands on W's waist? I am sure they are really concerned with any kind of a crowd.
When he wins again - I plan to go to the Inauguration again.
By the way - my mom told me the other day that in the Cincy area - it is "Bush Mania" - signs, bumper stickers, poster - EVERYWHERE for George W. Bush!!!!
Great Pics, OHIO Rocks for Bush! Love ya OHIO!
NBC News (Brokaw) said 30,000.
You are most welcome. I believe in spreading the excitement.
I want a large chunk of the left to be so dispirited by this election that they forever give up on politics.
"That 3rd picture is a keeper."
If he'd had on his levis, it would have a REALLY outstanding photo!
