I just got back from a trout fishing trip with some friends. Somehow Kerry came up, and I mentioned the fact that the War Remnants Museum in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City has a photograph of John Kerry honoring him as a NORTH Vietnam war hero, and that this made Mr. Kerry a traitor to his country.
A friend of a friend who was fishing with us WENT OUT OF HIS MIND. He said it was a lie, and the the Bushes were this and that and the other thing. I offered to give him my copy of "Unfit for Command" and he said there was nothing but lies in it, even though he has never seen it.
It was pretty incredible. There are some deeply disturbed Liberals out there right now, and like all people who wear "peace" on their sleeves like "the religion of peace," I fear violence when John Kerry suffers a humiliating defeat this November.
If it's not close, they can't cheat, but I am betting that soon you won't be able to tell the difference between a Liberal and an Islamofascist.
Sorry for the vanity, but this encounter really bothered me.
That's just so enlightened of him.
I wasn't tricked; it was wishful thinking on my part.
Note however, that unlike RatherBiasedTM, I verified my sources before going public!
"A friend of a friend who was fishing with us WENT OUT OF HIS MIND. He said it was a lie"
Liberals don't go out of their minds. A person has to actually have a mind in order to go out of it. That said, Liberals drive themselves crazy via the slow bus.
Dang! Maybe ya'll can work it out after all the nuttiness dies down a bit. eh?
Heck, they don't even have a nice block of Svenge's cheese to carve initials into!
"this encounter really bothered me."
Most irrational, compulsively vitriolic schreeching liberals have a knack of bothering the sane crowd. We wonder why they aren't bouncing around in some rubber room. It's why many of them have nervous breakdowns, see shrinks for life, or worse commit murder a la tyrant Ira Einhorn, Castro, Stalin, Hitler, etc. It's all about complete control. And when they can't get it they snap.
Permission for the Saudis to depart did not come from President Bush, it came from Wilson, of the Wilson-Plame scandal and the Niger yellowcake coverup.
I've found that the best way to avoid losing friends is to just smile and nod when they go into loony mode, with the occaisional gentle suggestion.
Friends are a valuable commodity, and hopefully that friendship, if it's worthwhile, with outlive whatever political fad they've latched on to.
Uh, and apollogies for spamming this thread. This is just something near and dear to my heart. :)
"My in-laws hit my wife with the story that Bush flew a bunch of Saudis safely out of the US right after 9/11. Anybody know the scoop on this story?"
Yes it means your inlaws like sheeple paid to see Micheal Moores movie.
This exemplifies the Dems arguments and ignorance:
I am eating lunch in our offices break room with 4 liberal co-workers after the Rathgate scandal. This is an abridged version of the discussion, but it went on for about 10 minutes, of that time most of it was spent with the four laughing at me. It started with me mentioning how it is a shame Dan Rather chose to end his career this way (you have to step lightly alone in a room with 4 dims). I am immediately pounced on and informed the story was true. I begin to explain how the evidence and general consensus of even the main stream media believes the documents are most likely forged. The lead liberal of the group informs me that the same amount of people who think the documents are real is in fact greater and more credible then those who think the documents are false. She then mentions the Knox interview and I ask what she thought of Killians son. She tells me that he wouldnt know. In utter frustration I ask, Where have you gotten all this information? Her response, your not going to believe this, is CBS news. Thank goodness there is no window in the break room or I would have leapt out.
She is going to finally discredit me by telling everyone He probably believes the Swift Boats! I respond that They proved he wasnt in Cambodia on Christmas! She ends the friendly discussion in typical Dim fashion by throwing her arm up, laughing and walking away. Needless to say she has been very meek around me for the past week. Hehehe, I love it.
The bottom line is that the Dims main arguments not to re-elect Bush are:
1. Talk louder and more then you.
2. Laugh at anything a Republican says
3. Scream Haliburton as they run away
Would you care to share with us the story of what brought about your change of heart?
Is there something else to talk about?
Moore runs a NY Times article quickly past the camera that has Clarke's admission about this -- that's so fast nobody but us eagle eyes notices it. Otherwise Moore is completely unfaithful to the truth -- he plays up Clarke's words to all git out but says zilch -- not a word spoken about Clarke's taking responsibility to that stupidity.
IIRC, and I may not, Clarke works for some beltway bandit outfit that is funded by the Saud's.
Oh, they're sheeples all right.
The bottom line is that it is extremely wise and business savy NOT to bring up politics or religion into your place of work or mixed (unknown) company. History has proven it leads to a dead end or the unemployment line. You better make sure you leave nothing important on your desk so your dem coworkers don't get hold of anything to set you up for failure as petty revenge.
I don't remember exactly how the old quote goes, something to the effect of 'If you want to know a man's character, look at his friends'. That's the issue.
I don't really care what people's attitudes and political beliefs are, so long as there is some reason to them. I know a few liberals that have positions I don't agree with, but I can't deny that they correctly reasoned themselves into what I feel are incorrect conclusions. Reasonable people do disagree.
I'm not talking about that.
I'm talking about zealots. People who are so consumed with hate and rage that they're blinded by it are not people I'm going to associate myself with, be they left or right wingers. People change, and friends change, and that's life. I'm sad to see it end this way, but it wasn't my choice. I'm not going to pretend to support anyones fanatical fantasies just to stay popular with them.
I am pretty safe. Out of 30 employees two of us are Republicans, the owner and myself. I especially like to bring politics up in front of him so I get to watch everyone squirm, it's great!
Sort of like Islam?
