I would be stunned if this didn't turn out to have happened months ago.

They'll get their man. You won't hear it in the headlines but they will get the Al Qaeda terror master you can be sure. If I were Musab Al Zarqawi, I wouldn't count on sleeping in the same bed every night.

"but they caution that the group harbors many more figures who could rise up and take their places." And then we play "Wack a Mole" as they rise, just like the Isralis.

What took them so long? The task force probably should be named '666' rather than '626'. Now that would be appropriate!

"Neutralize"???
I certainly hope that is a euphemism for "string him up by his ankles from a light pole and cut his throat."

Wouldn't it be great if the president announced his capture during the first debate? Talk about taking the wind out of Kerry's sails...

Heh-heh. Isn't Experiment 626 the project name for Stitch in the "Lilo and Stitch" movie?
Anyone who's seen it may see a little humor in "unleashing 626 on Zarqawi." =D

Officials believe they may have taken out as much as half of the members of the senior leadership of al-Zarqawi's group, Tawhid and Jihad (search) whose name is loosely translated as "Monotheism and Holy War,"
That is VERY loosely translated. Jihad is "holy war," but "Tawhid" is the Arabic word used to describe Allah's "oneness," which is more than just their belief that there is only one God. This term is used to differentiate from the Christian conception of God, in which God is one God in Three Persons. Muslims obviously don't believe in the Trinity.

One of the problems with trying to nab Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is that he looks like any average Arab. Nothing distinguishing about him. He easily changes his appearance to blend in, and ID cards easy to make.
About the only way well get him is if he is caught with a group of terrorists and we have either his finger prints or DNA.

It would be great! But, the left would scream conspiracy. They would claim that we have been holding him for a while and waited to announce his capture to influence the election. All the sheep would follow suit. Like Teraayzah said, don't be surprised if they announce bin Laden's capture soon. No matter what Bush does it is wrong in their eyes. Only the left could find the bad side of capturing these terrorists.

This has not been in operation for months? Unbelievable
