Officials believe they may have taken out as much as half of the members of the senior leadership of al-Zarqawi's group, Tawhid and Jihad (search) — whose name is loosely translated as "Monotheism and Holy War,"

That is VERY loosely translated. Jihad is "holy war," but "Tawhid" is the Arabic word used to describe Allah's "oneness," which is more than just their belief that there is only one God. This term is used to differentiate from the Christian conception of God, in which God is one God in Three Persons. Muslims obviously don't believe in the Trinity.
