Kerry Pulls Campaign Ads From Four States
Yahoo! News (AP) ^ | 16 minutes ago | RON FOURNIER, AP Political Writer

WASHINGTON - Bowing to political realities, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) has canceled plans to begin broadcasting television commercials in Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana and the perennial battleground of Missouri.

The decision to shrink his political playing field reduces Kerry's strategic options — at least for now — in the homestretch of the campaign. George W. Bush won all four states in 2000, and Kerry can't win the White House without taking one or two of them away from the Republican incumbent.

The ads were scheduled to begin airing Oct. 5 as part of a $5 million investment through Nov. 2, but campaign advisers concluded Kerry isn't doing well enough in the states to justify the cost.

Kerry is scrapping up the money now for later lawsuits...just wait and see...the next disputed state and results will not be Florida this time...my money is on Ohio.

A shame. Kerry's been wasting precious campaign funds in these four states for a couple of weeks now.

I don't think I've ever heard of this happening before. What it tells me is that Kerry's hoping for an Electoral College squeaker. His internal polls must stink to high heaven.

I began noticing about 10 days ago the Dim spinners and media types such as Matthews basically turned down the volume, became more docile, seem to be just running out the string. Word is the smart politicos say it's over for FnKerry.

Fortunate Son was a flop and not just because of Rathergate. The coordinated media effort simply got no traction, the talking heads did their best to no avail.

The Dims & MSM will rally next week for the debates but that's it. If there's no big movement for FnKerry by early Oct. they will lose all hope.

MSM polls will try to give appearance of close race for better ratings, even that may fail.

He will not win Florida, so long as we defeat the Democrat Party Operatives' Vote Fraud Machine.

By the last week of October we'll be reading: Kerry Pulls ads from Battleground states of New Jersey, Minnesota, and Oregon...

And: "Kerry is making last-minute campaign stops throughout New York City, in a furious Get-Out-The-Vote effort, in order to beat off a surging President Bush."

I think Bush has a chance, for sure. Every able-bodied member of the GOP must get out and vote! And we also need to be POLL WATCHING that day to make sure the Dim-o-crats don't get away with rampant fraud. I got poll watcher credentials for the last 3 elections and got electioneering shut down here in northern Cook County (we live in an northern suburb of Chicago which is still within Cook County borders - a fact lost on many downstaters ;-).

Every FReeper needs to get Poll-watching Credentials! Easy to do - just ask for them from an area campaign office, such as the congressional race going on in your area.

My homies back in MISSOURI are making ME happy!

He's NOT getting Missouri. St Louis, Columbia and KC are the only areas that will go for him and they don't have seperate electoral votes ;-)

I was thinking today that I had not seen any John Kerry ads, here in Wisconsin for the last few days. I have seen many, many DNC, and Moveon.org, and other 527's, but I don't think I have seen any from the campaign itself.

Your warning is salutary. Kerry has lost Ohio, however, to Bush. Kerry has a chance in Florida; his internals must show him within three to five points if he is down here.

However, pulling out of Missouri is NOT a smart move. MO is a Bellwether state, and if it is falling out of his reach, that does not bode well for him in other battlegrounds.

Common Tator told us several years ago that in 2000, Gore was within striking distance of taking Ohio. His campaign pulled out of Ohio, rather inexplicably, and threw all its money into Florida. Gore was within three, according to what Ray has written, and the Union guys in that state were convinced they could put it, and the election, into Gore's column.

Gore didn't listen. That's why he isn't President.

Kerry is making a similar mistake with Missouri; unlike Gore, however, he has no alternative. Bush is running several points ahead of where he ran in 2000 in several crucial Blue states. If Kerry has to put money into Wisconsin, Minnesota, and New Jersey, and pull out of Missouri, I think its speaks volumes as to the state of play.

And I won't even talk about the Republican turnout effort this year. If you imagine the 2000 Bush total with a maximum turnout effort aimed at Evangelicals and other base Republicans, you can see that the potential for a majority Government becomes scary.

Be Seeing You,

Chris
