I keep seeing Freepers say that he isn't being prosecuted. I haven't found a link yet. I hope they don't think that because they expect the gov't to tell us every move they make in that regard. I would assume if there is an investigation, it's going to be secret.

While I don't usually waste time with comparisons such as I am about to put forth, it was more enjoyable to hear. I think Rush Limbaugh is capable of giving as inspirational homily on Americana as anyone in the history of this country.
I heard that Rush is getting a divorce; maybe it's time to start listening again.

This has been an unusual case. FreeRepublic has turned up a lot of corruption in the media over the years, and the MSM has ignored it. Whether this will prove to be the tipping point or just a one-in-a million fluke remains to be seen.
There's something especially egregious about a forged document. If CBS had contented themselves with just plain lying, as they usually do, this wouldn't have happened.
At some point the old media will fall of its own dead weight and sheer corruption. The numbers are dropping day be day. But it may take a while longer before the balance tips and the scale flies up.
News organizations only have the ability to send people to the news site AFTER they have been notified. Bloggers are everywhere--they see news happen firsthand--they see the truth, not what the press wants you to think the truth is. And bloggers are interconnected now. It's a global bloggosphere. Reporters can't get away with slanting the news any more because there is a bloggosphere system of checks and balances. This phenomenon has been slowly evolving over the past decade or more, but it's finally starting to be noticed and understood for the force that it truly is.

What I enjoy most about the above isn't that he acknowledges FreeRepublic was the one to uncover this. It is that he mounts a solid defense of the people here that have been dismissed as fringe radicals over the years. He gave Kudos to all of you.
Rush is THE top conservative voice on the circuit. The movement would not be the same without his voice these many years. He picked up where Reagan left off and in doing so made room for other conservatives to rise to the top. It means more to hear this coming from him, than it does from any Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw or Peter Jennings.
I thank Rush for his service towards conservatism, for the Empire he helped build. And I congratulate every Freeper that has taken the hit of the MSM for years. My thanks to Jim for creating and managing this site. TankerKC, Howlin and Buckhead as well as the others that helped investigate those fraudulent memos.
No, the fight isn't over. It's just nice to know ordinary Americans can make a difference.
I have gained back some respect for Rush for saying this himself; he is correct in that the MSM is crushed 'losers' like those on the Internet could ever bust them. I would have expected he would be in that same crowd, however, and I'm pleased he was willing to set himself aside from that group once again.
First step taken, now, come back to us all the way, Rush! Caller abortions, conservatism, don't be a party hack any more--call it like it is and enjoy having fun with it! I don't agree with you on all the issues, but at least I trusted you before H.W. let you crash at the White House. Let cutting Marta loose mean a new resurgence of your conservative nature and that sense of humor we loved! And while dittoheads are occasionally entertaining, how about shuttin' them up once in a while so that we have a caller on that disagrees with you?
