Okay, I'm sorry for the problem I've created for Matchett and others of the same sensitive nature.
Thus, I hereby formally distance myself and my comments from all people like Matchett PI.
I am shocked that anyone would confuse that from the get-go, since no one speaks for all Freepers and only a wizened old fool would think any post indicates otherwise, but I'll distance myself from those persons who got confused.
I declare, also, that I didn't mean to speak for Matchett PI (because he would obviously not want some young whippersnapper speaking for him, when he's a long-time Freeper who deserves respect simply for his seniority).
Nor did I intend to speak for anyone else that thinks Rush's show is perfect now and always has been.
I apologize to those of you who, in your blind loyalty to a radio personality, took insult that someone might tenuously imply anyone besides himself felt Rush was not as good as he used to be. Obviously, that is not the case. Everyone loves Rush. In fact, everyone thinks Rush is God and we should all bow down and worship him for his divine nature. In fact, I've built a shrine in my home and he and his prophet Hannity are the idols I now worship. I drink only from an EIB mug, read from "The Way Things Ought to Be" instead of conversing normally, and generally act like I should, since only Rush can bring us salvation.
End sarcasm. We now return Matchett and pals to their regularly scheduled Rush Kool-Aid sipping. (Oops, sorry for using the "WE," Matchett).

I don't understand what "bump" means nor FR's various acronym references, but I understand and respect FR's spirit seeking the path to the highest moral value.

I heard this show...brought a tear to the eye!
There are those on the Web who are united only by their shared hatred of one man. A populist movement based on Hate will falter and fall apart (think Stalin and Hitler). A group working together toward a positive goal and sharing common honest values cannot be suppressed or defeated.
I'm proud to be a Freeper, and proud to associate with the Free Republic. Thank you, each and every one.
(And the first person who suggests we have a group hug and sing "Kumbiya" is going to get such a pinch!)

Dinner party Saturday in honor of my birthday. Long-time friends enjoying adult beverages & the conversation slithers around to politics.
Knowing there are at least a couple of semi-Libs in the group, and not wanting things to get nasty on such a nice night, I made a joke to the effect that it's time for the campaign to get off Vietnam (an era we ALL remember) and that I was looking forward to the debates & the issues of today.
One of the guests, however, repeats the liberal whine about Karl Rove being behind the CBS memo forgery and I couldn't help myself. I laughed out loud. The conversational hole was big enough to drive a Mac truck through and I put the hammer down.
Did a brief point-by-point recap of why the memos were so obviously forged..including details on IBM Selectric capabilites (at least 2 folks used to use the things, as I did, and knew EXACTLY what I was talking about). Hit on the screwed-up military style and use of abbreviations. Connected the dots between Danny-boy, Mary, Burkett and the document experts they ignored..as well as Col. Killian's family. Tossed in the testimony from that good ol' Texas crook Ben Barnes..and wrapped up with a flourish that the memos were "outed" WITHIN HOURS by the Internet, not the White House, any MSM, or government official.
Then I asked the group, "If Rove is some evil genius behind all this, would he have been that careless?" Point, set, match.
Most of this was news to the group...they'd only heard the overall story on the MSM. I think I changed some votes last night..because I had the detailed facts right to hand....and I owe it all to Free Republic!!! A Better Birthday Gift there could never be.
BTW, the whole group agreed Dan has got to go. :-)

Wondering about what? If Rush drops in on us? The answer is... Yes, he does, and has for years. Many times his show has been prepped by something on these boards, as most long-time Freepers are well-aware..
