WASHINGTON A South Korean spy duped John Kerry's fund-raisers into exploring the creation of a new Korean-American political group raising U.S. suspicions that Seoul may be trying to influence the presidential election.
South Korean and U.S. officials told the Associated Press that Chung Byung-Man, a consular officer in Los Angeles, worked for South Korea's National Intelligence Service when he was meeting with Kerry fund-raisers earlier this year.
A spokesman for the South Korean consulate office said Chung was sent home in May amid "speculation" he became involved with the Kerry campaign and the Democratic Party.
Kerry spokesman Chad Clanton said the campaign didn't know Chung was a spy until told by the AP.
It's the second time Kerry has been linked to Asian funny money. Johnny Chung, who was charged with funneling illegal contributions to the 1996 Clinton-Gore campaign, engaged in a similar "straw donor" scheme to assist Kerry in his Senate re-election bid that same year.

Again?
Seems to me we've heard that song before.
I think there's something about Asian money: If you recieve a contribution now, you're hungry for another in an hour.
I think it's all the MSG.
You can't dupe the willing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah... Tell it to the judge, Clanton.
There's a reason you Democrats are called "Useful Idiots," y'know.
I'm sure it was a sensative duping.
Un-flipping-believable. Hey John Kerry, you know those "other foreign leaders" who "support" you? Might want to start checking them out as well! BTTT
Seems to me that Kerry has some powerful foreign friends and not all of them are terrorist organizations.
Just like SeeBS was "duped."
"YEAR OF THE RAT" ALL OVER AGAIN!
Here we go again!
Duped? Like Dan Rather was duped?
Uh-huh.
Rush Limbaugh was talking about this on the Tuesday show.
It must be all that tea he drank.
It is amazing, the ways they have to get away with being
crooked.
This spy was sent back, before the story broke.......
If a Republican did this (but we're much smarter) it would be plastered all over the news.
I'm confused. I thought S. Korea was our ally? Why would they want Kerry in office?
Heheh.....good one.
"I'm confused. I thought S. Korea was our ally? Why would they want Kerry in office?"
To put the troops back. They contributed to the SK economy.
Nice zinger.
Actually, I really wasn't zinging. I was honestly asking why would S. Korea want Kerry in? I'm really confused. Unless this specific person was a N. Korean spy?
