U.S. soldiers inspect a site after the controlled explosion of a car bomb in Baghdad on Tuesday. The U.S. military detonated the bomb intentionally to remove it as a threat.

We are soldiers, we break things, we are good at it.

 

Army Spc. Patrick Hoyt, a medic with the Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team, applies eye drops to an Afghani patient at the Baba Wali Sahib Clinic in the Arghandab District of Kandahar province.

This particular medical unit came in last place for hygiene and antiseptic conditions according to the Inspector General's recent report.
