and exhort every Republican in the United States Congress, State Representative and even your Governor and express outrage and ask them to denounce CBS's lame excuse "I find we have been misled" and demand a direct apology from than Rather to the President. Nothing else is acceptable.

An apology to our President is imperative, but more is needed. The creator of those documents must be charged with forging military documents. A crime has been committed. Forging military documents in an attempt to influence a Presidential election appears serious to me.

Laura Ingraham had an attorney on her show today. He is the country's leading expert in FCC matters.

He said there were so many laws broken that an enterprising lawyer could sue. He didn't think it would happen, though.

My understanding from Laura's show is that:

1. It's illegal to send forged documents over the airwaves (Fax).

2. It's illegal to forge a signature.

3. There are military considerations with regard to documents that are even more serious than the usual forgery penalties.

4. There was some discussion about a network using forged documents to try and influence an election but I didn't understand the technicalities discussed. Due diligence was obviously not followed to determine the veracity of the documents.

We don't need our government representatives weighing in on this. CBS has already shot themselves. What more can a politician add?

What is wrong with you, this is activism.
And No I was not suspended for that reason.
These people the Dems CBS the MSM are so vile that they are willing to do anything to defeat the President, AND if cannot do it here, I will find another place to do it.

I would like someone to get Michael Moore's opinion on Dan Rather.

According to a discussion he had with Bill O'Reilly at the RNC convention, Bush lied-- even though he was "given faulty information". "Did Bush say something that was untrue? Then he lied!"

By this logic, Dan Rather lied. Doesn't matter if he was "misled". He lied! He should be fired.

I would like Michael Moore to be given the chance to be intellectually honest, even if it's only with himself.

Fine, if you wanna play ball, then I'll play ball.

Conservatism is about small government, yes?

In that case, why on earth do you want the government exercising penultimate control over media? Even in the case of flagrant schadenfreude such as Rathergate, I'd rather my local, state, and federal government concentrate on running the country. If you want Rather censured, rebuked, or even fired, the government can't do that for you. Take up your fight with CBS and the other Lamestream Media directly.

(and stop posting so many vanities.)

Obviously, you don't see or don't want to see the tremendous damage that this could cost the President. I see many vanities here all the time. In my opinion CBS owes the President a direct apology. And if Congress expresses outrage the better.
They are our Representatives and we all are outraged by all the attacks. This is not a freedon of speech issue. This is an issue of libertinism, lechery I am not advocating government control of the media. But the media should be held accountable for slander, defamation.

Actually, this CBS scam is helping the President far more than it's hurting him. Rathergate has dealt a mortal blow not only to CBS's credibility, but also to the credibility of McAwful and the RATs' AWOL claims.

I agree that CBS owes the President an apology. However, the onus should not be put on the government, but rather CBS and its affiliates. If Republicans in the government tried to force an apology out of Rather, it would undermine the importance for the need of such an admission.
