My source familiar with discussions within CBS says that the discussions of "Dan falling on his sword" have been "muttered all over the place, but there is nothing solid - so far just "rumor and speculation." However, many staffers has been told to gather around 11 a.m. for an announcement of some sort.

Gotta use passive voice-- a fave of liberals. The passive voice was used.

As much as I would hope for Dan to resign and admit to being a shill for the Dems I don't expect it. We all have to remember that liberals believe they are "anointed" with near total omniscience. Still it sounds to me like the tune might be changing, even if the song remains the same.

From CBS: "We have examined all the documents thoroughly and have come to the conclusion that it's all Karl Rove's fault. Thank you and good day.""
I think you forgot something.
It's just a guess, but I bet the announcement will read like this: "From CBS: "We have examined all the documents thoroughly and have come to the conclusion that it's all Karl Rove's fault. Courage."

Mistakes were made, and we're going to hire more fact checkers. The Bush economy had caused staff cuts at CBS, compromising their ability to adequately do their jobs.
It was Bush's fault.

New rumor at another network,
Rather will take all blame, sort-of. "I did nothing wrong, but I'm the captain of the ship. It's my fault. I'm sorry. Now shut up and go get another story."

Mapes and Rather out. That's the only way this can end, and even then, it will be a tough trek back from the road to oblivion.

Will Dan wag his finger at the camera, or has the DNA results come in from the stained blue memo?
