I saw that exchange. Blather did not "lash out". He said it jokingly.
I didn't hear it, but even if he didn't lash out, the point was made. He is a liberal mouthpiece.
And the truth is, Rather was not duped. They all (at C-BS) made a conscious decision to put out the crooked forgeries. The arrogance of the leftist, elitist media has gone way over the top -- over the past decade, they have been so spoiled, being THE CONDUIT for news, they could design and spin the news any way they wanted, and they got away with it. It went to their brains.
Not any more...the NEW MEDIA has taken care of it. And the hard core libs, like Rather and his goons in the media, are having a real tough time dealing with the REALITY of it.
So what was he actually saying that to the fox reporter? That Fox News is being duped by "conservatism" which to him is a lie?
That's Newsmax for you.
It's not a question of volume but one of tone and context; it was an obvious and somewhat low blow by an increasingly desperate man who clearly prefers to be on the other side of "gotcha" journalism ;)
Rather is delusional. First he overestimates his cultural relevance, figuring he'll be impervious to any consequences in regards to his his "shoot first, consider the target later" stance. Now the poor bloke thinks he's actually delivered a zinging diatribe.
Rather was actually rather gracious to the reporter, who either hit his head on or just walked into an electronic door, by accident, while trying to talk to Rather.
Rather knew he was on camera, so one is free to take the comments he made to the reporter for what they are. He asked a number of times if the reporter was okay. After the whole exchange, Rather reached out his hand to shake the reporter's hand.
Look, Rather is a jackass. The presentation and handling of the anti-Bush story with the fake documents proves that, but giving a skewed report about an incident at the airport is no way to remain above the fray. NewsMax should know better.
That is the best part about it...He was trying to zing the reporter...and sound funny.
Instead...he came off looking like a nervous tool.
