"George W. Bush has cultivated a culture in which a grieving mother (Sue Niederer) in New Jersey gets arrested for asking a question at a Bush campaign event. Its the same culture that allows an Alabama woman to be fired for expressing her beliefs with a John Kerry bumper sticker on her car. You ask a question they dont want to answer and they arrest you. You express a belief that they disagree with and you get fired
This isan excerpt from An Interview with Sue Niederer May 22, 2004
http://www.counterpunch.org/weill05222004.html
I wanted to rip the president's head off. Curse him, yell at him, call him a self righteous bastard and a lot of other words. I think if I had him in front of me I would shoot him in the groined area. Let him suffer. And just continue shooting him there. Put him through misery, like he's doing to everyone else. He doesn't deserve any better Sue

It is appointed once for a man to die and then the judgment....
What should have been more important to mom...was where will her boy spend eternity...
Our children die in bike accidents, car accidents, motorcycle accidents, from childhood diseases and in war...
If they aren't written into the Lamb's Book of Life....that is the real tragedy...
I am sorry this mom does not have that kind of comfort...and peace.....
Pres Bush had nothing to do with any of this....we did not start this war....
our enemies did...
Her son went to stop them from killing any more innocent Americans...
He was a brave young man and a real hero
I seriously doubt Pres Bush would hold this against this Gold Star Mother...it isnt in him to hold grief against the mothers of his soldiers....
Bill and Hillary would have harrassed her into the ground and used their office to hurt her...that is a truth she will probably never know or be gratefull for...
imo

True. Hospices almost always have grieving programs. Admission is usually free and not restricted to families of those who died in Hospice care.
Recommend them highly.

Here's the scoop from the
NY Daily News:
The angry mother of a soldier killed in Iraq was cuffed and arrested yesterday after demanding to know from First Lady Laura Bush why her daughters weren't serving in the war. Sue Niederer, 55, of Hopewell, N.J., interrupted a campaign speech by the First Lady while wearing a T-shirt with the words "President Bush You Killed My Son."
She was charged with trespassing as she spoke to reporters after leaving the rally in a firehouse in Hamilton, N.J.
"I asked the question why her children, why the children of congressmen and legislators, aren't in Iraq if it's such a justified war?" she said.
Her shouts were drowned out by the 700-strong crowd listening to Laura Bush, who started chanting "Four more years," and she left the hall voluntarily. But she was handcuffed and put in a police van while she spoke to reporters outside.
"The police said I was trespassing because I was blocking an exit from the hall while I spoke to reporters," she said.

Anyone notice a pattern in exploiting the down trodden by the DNC....they throw Clelland out there as a sympathic figure...it didnt work...now the DNC is using a distraught mother for campaign points.

Important details being ommitted:
Sorry. If America is going to suceed in the War on Terror then we need to be as resolved as we were in the Civil War or WWII, perhaps more so.
This kind of disgusting public display is unacceptable. I don't care if it makes her feel better, or helps her deal with her grief or whatever other kind of psychobabble we can associate with it.
The War on Terror is not about assuaging her feelings - it's about saving our country from savages trying to destroy it.
This woman has been doing this type of thing in connection with various left wing groups
since at least March, when I saw her (and fellow freeper Dr. Raoul confronted her) at a March in Dover, DE sponsored by Military Families Speak Out, Sept 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, and ANSWER.

She wasn't arrested for shouting at Laura Bush. She was arrested, as I understand it, for not leaving on her own.

This is the woman who was arrested for shouting at Laura Bush. Actually, she was arrested for refusing to leave the event after she had disrupted it.
Her further threatening comments toward the President should warrant a visit from the Secret Service.

If anything in this can make you unhinged, it must be the death of a child. She is deflecting her own grief, loss, anger, fear and guilt (?) onto a safe target, the president.
Still she he was not asking a question, she was disrupting a meeting.
