Gold Star Mother's Arrest Emblematic of Bush's Disrespect of the Military (Barf)
DNC Website ^ | 9/17/2004 | Terry McAuliffe

Posted on 09/19/2004 8:04:37 AM PDT by Soliton

"George W. Bush has cultivated a culture in which a grieving mother (Sue Niederer) in New Jersey gets arrested for asking a question at a Bush campaign event. It’s the same culture that allows an Alabama woman to be fired for expressing her beliefs with a John Kerry bumper sticker on her car. You ask a question they don’t want to answer and they arrest you. You express a belief that they disagree with and you get fired

This isan excerpt from An Interview with Sue Niederer May 22, 2004

http://www.counterpunch.org/weill05222004.html

“I wanted to rip the president's head off. Curse him, yell at him, call him a self righteous bastard and a lot of other words. I think if I had him in front of me I would shoot him in the groined area. Let him suffer. And just continue shooting him there. Put him through misery, like he's doing to everyone else. He doesn't deserve any better” Sue

This is the woman who was arrested for shouting at Laura Bush. She should be in jail for making terroristic threats, not being praised by Terry McAuliffe.

Yep, another DNC spokeswoman who didn't get her way...

Listen to her inflammatory language,,and you have to wonder if maybe she needs some hospitalization in a quiet room.

The death of her son is a tragedy, to be sure, but,,he was a soldier, in a combat zone,,,so,,,

I am not sure her expectations were exactly,,healthy.

Ah,now I see it. The DNC knows how close things are in New Jersey,,,so they have to use this woman's "story" (even if mentally touched) to try to get some sympathy.

They are just pissed about the little girl and the union thug story,,,so,,again,,the DNC is the FOLLOWER while the RNC takes the lead.

Bush will win in so many ways,,,big time on November 2.

She was arrested for refusing to leave, not for shouting.

This sick woman is very mentally ill. She should undergo treatment for a long long long time.

My son had a close call in Iraq last year and I found that to be extraordinarily distressing. He was not wounded but the anguish I felt can only pale to what this woman is likely feeling.

Nevertheless, I support the mission in Iraq and threatening the president or anyone else is still a crime. This woman probably needs therapy or medication. She should be kept away from such events and legally restrained if necessary.

You know, it's interesting that the Democratic web site doesn't say what the question was.

I'm going to assume it's not something they want reprinted.

Does anybody know what it was?

It seems to me she shouted out that President Bush murdered her son. I think it was something like that.

Read between the lines of her story and you see a woman overcome with guilt that she and her hisband refused to pay for son's last two years of college. Son joined Army to get money to pay debts. He was KIA.

Of course, this woman has to blame someone else for the loss, so she blames President Bush.

I am so sorry for this woman's loss, and no, her failure to pay for son's schooling does not mean she is to blame, but it doesn't lay it at the feet of Laura Bush, either.

The US took action to stop more Iraqi-backed terrorism in the US before it happened. Niederer is a German name, probably Jewish. When should we have stopped Hitler, before or after the Final Solution?

Hey, Terry McAuliffe,

How many other mothers' sons died in Vietnam because of Kerry? How many were tortured in the Hanoi Hilton and elsewhere?

That fraud Kerry is responsible for us losing the Vietnam war. IF he were elected President, he would go down in history as the only man responsible for causing us to lose two wars.

I see true patriots on this site every day, expressing anxiety about their loved ones serving in Iraq, and looking for some comfort in the support and gratitude for their scarifice that they find here.

It's you and the phony Winter Soldier who have no respect for the military. There are those here who would endure torture to keep from stepping on an American flag or flying it upside down. But Kerry has been contemptuous of the military all his life, and a coward like him doesn't change his yellow stripe.

If you want to see proof of who is considered by our brave military as their friend or their enemy, look no further than the recepetion the National Guard gave your pathetic loser of a candidate. You are scum.

She wasn't removed/arrested for yelling at Laura Bush. She was removed because she was disruptive and refused to leave when asked. We all have the right of free speech...not the right to be a belligerent, violent a-hole.

One must constantly remind Democrats that while speech is free, the consequences can be costly.

Even free political speech is regulated by time place and manner restrictions.

Most importantly, however, "free speech" is properly regulated by the free market of ideas. If a man runs a business and he does not want his employees to be openly campaigning for John Kerry with bumper-stickers and placards, the man need not employ such a person.

If a mother who has lost her child wants to question the President's policy -- she should. But screaming and disrupting at an event where questions were not part of the agenda is not free speech -- it is anarchy. (imagine a public meeting at your local town council where everyone stands up and starts yelling at and over everyone. That is uncivil, unhelpful, and not permitted by a numerous statutes, including disorderly conduct.)

The speech, however, was free.

Oh that is horrible. I can't even imagine this woman's pain. Truly.
She should be put into a treatment program very soon. I am not being sarcastic at all. I'm not sure how I would react given her situation. I just pray for her and hope that someone would get me the help I need in a similar situation.
