What an absolute travesty. Tennessee fans should be ashamed.
55 seconds left, at Tennessee clock running, Florida up by 1 at midfield with the ball, 4th down, clock will run down another 30 seconds before punting. Ref is staring right at a UT player and a Florida player. TN player then slaps UF player on helmet as ref watches, then UF player retaliates, paid off ref throws flag on UF, stopping the clock and giving UT 15 extra yards. Not offsetting, just a complete homer call. UT makes a 50 yard field goal with 13 seconds left.
From an Auburn fan and former high school official, you are right. I didn't think the receiver got in the end zone for Tennessee's last touchdown, either. Maybe Gallion, attorney for former Alabama coaches Ronnie Cottrell and Ivy Williams, is right and Tennessee has the NCAA in its back pocket
We lost because we have that idiot Zook for a head coach.
Corruption, pure and simple. The Vols FINALLY beat the Gators in Knoxville. (yawn).
Go Gators!
We wuz wobbed!
We wuz wobbed!
Come on. 14 of the Gators points came off of turnovers that are easily attributed to freshmen mistakes. This game could have easily been 35-7 UT.
Go Vols.
Oops. Sorry.
Umm, respectfully, CU crushed that same Nebraska team, in Lincoln, and would've beaten GaTech by three touchdowns. The reason why GaTech was a co-champion is because the Buffs came in second by one-vote in the coaches poll despite going into the game ranked number 1 in both polls.
Not that I am sensitive or anything.
If you can't get four stinking yards in two plays to run out the clock, you don't deserve to win the game. Florida is going nowhere until we get a real head coach.
would that be TOBACCO roots ???? :-)
go BUCKEYES !
LOL
Night y'all!
I guess you completely overlooked where I have twice stated that I root AGAINST Florida. I wasn't robbed, Florida was.
But Tennessee fans have plenty of experience overlooking a lot of things...
1 - The second guy ALWAYS gets called
2 - That FG would've been good from 65
Touchy call, but not a tainted victory IMHO...Leak and Ainge will definitely produce more classics in the near future...
Get real. Zook out-coached Fulmer from the second quarter on. This year UT has more talent than the Gators. Chris Leak is killer. Next year Fla should be a for real National Champ. contender.
Go Vols!
and really, Go Gators!
Yes, the play could easily have been called as offsetting penalties. The ref was obviously watching the entire sequence. But, it seems to me, the only rationale to the play as it was called was that the first head slap happened immediately at the end of the play as a sort of continuation. The FL player had to come back, after the play was clearly ended, to slap back. And, the 2nd slap was harder than the first. The first slap was borderline, and could have been called. The second was clearly over the line and should have been called.
Stuff goes on like that for the whole game. I've been on the losing end of similar calls/non-calls and had to live with it. Now I get to live with being on the other side of this one. It feels good. I'll take it!
Gotta give respect to the Terps. *painful memories*
Outcoaching Fulmer isn't saying much.

I didn't think so until I saw the third replay.
Judgement call, could have gone either way.
Go Vols.
I think I despise whiner sports fans worse than whiner lefty hippies...because in the end, its just a friggin game.
