Who is your favorite conservative radio talk show host?

Posted on 09/17/2004 8:18:26 PM PDT by RedOhio

I was just wondering what everyone's favorite talk radio show is. My favorite is Glenn Beck. Your thoughts?

How about a must listen. Of all of them I can't miss a single RUSH show. And Hugh Hewitt a close 2nd. I love a lot of them, but I can't miss RUSH.

Basically, Rush is the foundation for many of those who followed. I think he still has the best arguments, and the best staff. That being said, I deeply appreciate and respect many of the other talk show hosts in this thread. It's like we have the RATS in a trap now. If they don't get pounded on something by Rush, other hosts jump on them and get them. And if THEY miss something, FreeRepublic DOESN'T!

And in reply to my own post:

Roger Hedgecock - former Mayor of San Diego and frequent guest host for Rush.......

Roger Rocks

Seriously; Roger Hedgecock is the heir apparent to Rush's crown if Rush ever steps down.

On his best days, Roger is as insightful, as thoughtful and as biting as Rush at his best - maybe better.

I'm not him, but my answer would be, because I want to....stuff it in your hat.

I agree. Rush is da man. No one has better insights, and radio instincts.

Steve Marlsberg (sp?) would be better if he didn't "go to the busy phones" so much.

Beck is good for the humor, down the list for conservative thought.

Dr. Laura is Dear Abby on the radio, albeit with a conservative bent.

Savage is good when he's "on" but I don't care what he had for dinner last night.

Hannity is good for the latest talking points, but not much else.

I like Mike Reagan when I can hear him but that's seldom.

I don't get Laura Ingraham, but I like her on Fox.

I can't stand Bill O'Reilly.

We used to have Mike Graham for afternoon drive, but he went to DC. Very conservative, smart, but very arrogant too.

Jason Lewis is good too.

We had Phil Hendrie for a short time but I never thought his act was that great. Different strokes....

I love the G-Man when I can get him, and the news is so thick he doesn't have time to tell us about his cars, etc.

>>>>The weeks I'm working nights, I listen to Medved and Hewett via KRLA.com, then swap over and listen to Prager (via subscription), then pull down Rush's show (also via subscription). By that time, Bill Bennet is on KSKY.com, and I catch the first hour of Laura Ingraham before I go to sleep<<<

Thats as rich a mix as anyone could possible assimilate in a 24 hour period. I catch most of these a couple of days and nights a week....if I listened to them every 24 hours, I would probably be in Iraq at 68 years old, attempting to infiltrate al-Sadr's gangs with my Baretta strapped to my thigh.

Stay safe.......

You are awful critical of what I thought might be a good "for fun" post which might make me aware of good shows. Sure my favorite show is Glenn, but maybe there are others out there that might inform/entertain me better. Is that so wrong?

Ok .

This is hard, because I love so many. But if I have to choose one as a favorite, it would have to be Sean Hannity, because of his personality. He is such a nice guy.

Naw, Laura has the best mix.

It's good to listen to a variety of them though.

But they all have their commercials at the same time...

Medved is good, but doesn't have the "mix" Ingraham does.

She is the best.

But all that aside, FR is the BEST talk "radio" around.

After all, most of the "talk show hosts" have their people watch FR 24/7 just so they can keep up.

savage he tells it like it is!!!

I listen to him sometimes. But what I object to is his ever changing opinions. One day he is for Bush and the war, the next day, or sometimes just in the second hour he bashes him and the war. He seems inconsistent to me. Funny as heck though.
