You're right. I shouldn't have said "garbage". Please know that they're are many of us who KNOW that there is evil in the world, but we can't handle the images. We just can't. In my case, my adrenaline jumps up and my mind just "short circuits". I want to stop what I'm seeing, but it's not right in front of me and I can't do anything at that moment. I end up getting very ill. I'll have nightmares for weeks. I end up getting furious at the person who put those pictures in my head.
Without the images, I can go into a slow burn and still think. (I also can't watch the Nick Burg video or abortion pictures.) Heck, right after my daughter was born there was a story in the news about a father who drowned his children in the bathtub. My mom didn't turn the channel fast enough and I broke the TV in a screaming rage. I just can't take it. Sorry.
The difference is, if it's happening in my backyard, I can shoot the terrorists. I can't do anything about a video. Sadly, I have the same reaction to a video as I do to the real thing and it drives me nuts. (I have the same problem when my children are suffering. My instincts say to rip into the doctor who's hurting them, my logical mind tells me that this is nonsense, I can't handle the conflict, so I faint.) I don't need to see it to know that it's evil and that it needs to be stopped.
