Statement from the General President Regarding the Events in Huntington, WV (Parlock Vindicated!)

Statement from the General President Regarding the Events in Huntington, WV

The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades believes in the fundamental right for civil discourse, freedom of speech and activism to support our candidates and issues.

What happened in Huntington, West Virginia yesterday is an affront to everything we, as a union, pride ourselves to represent. We extend our apologies to the Parlock family, especially Sophia, for the distress one of our overzealous members caused them.

I have personally taken steps to address this issue internally, and will take immediate disciplinary action to the full extent allowed under U.S. Department of Labor regulations and the constitution of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.

It is my hope that this incident reminds all of our members that every last citizen in this country has the right to express his or herself freely. Not one single one of us has the right to tell them otherwise.

General President James A. Williams
The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades

I am glad that someone stood up and did the right thing for once.

The picture of that little girl crying over the destruction of her sign was quite distressing. It made the libs look like the true fools that they are. Adults that would take and destroy signs from children are immature at best. The pushing and shoving that went on was inexcusable.

The left wing radicals don't care who they hurt in their quest to keep President Bush from being reelected.

Three-year-old Sophia Parlock cries while seated on the shoulders of her father, Phil Parlock, after having their Bush-Cheney sign torn up by Kerry-Edwards supporters on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va. Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards (news - web sites) made a brief stop at the airport as he concluded his two-day bus tour to locations in West Virginia and Ohio. He was simply fooled too, come on man, this proves nothing.

...I have personally taken steps to address this issue internally

He wouldn't have written this if he didn't know who did it.

"...--but at least this communist has the balls to apologize."

Yup. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Now let's see if he really follows through with his promise to punish his goon.

Are the DUers now calling the president of the union a right wing plant?

Well, good for them. I certainly appreciate this type of apology vs. the Dan Rather type of go to the wall garbage.

Hope this incident sheds sunshine on that type of lousy behavior. Sunshine is, indeed, the best type of disinfectant.

Gotta give the union guy a lot of credit. No waxing, waning, deliberating, stonewalling- hey maybe Rathergate is having an effect on people. By the way, the father does appear to be a bit on the nutty side.

And I'm sure DU will be retracting the nasty allegations. (I'm also sure Dan Rather will be talking about the memos' fraudulence any minute. I'm quite the optimist today.)
