This could get interesting. Sayonara, Dan.

Here is the letter I wrote to our local CBS affiliate
To whom it may concern:
Dan Rather, on CBS 60 Minutes, presented fake documents to the American people. The documents have been proven to be fakes yet Dan Rather continues to stand by his lies.
Dan Rather also attended and was a Keynote Speaker at a Democrat Fundraiser in Texas, further proving his bias. Dan Rather has acknowledged this bias (and apologized) in a recent interview with Geraldo Rivera.
Dan Rather of CBS is incapable of presenting the news is an unbiased fashion. I'm convinced this led to the serious breach of journalistic ethics regarding the use of forged documents. I simply can no long believe a word broadcast on CBS News.
Biased reporting of the news is unacceptable and deserves an appropriate response. Thus, I am programming my television set to delete all CBS affiliated channels. Your station and your advertisers will not show in my household.
I will put the CBS channels back on my televisions when Dan Rather apologizes for using his position with CBS for his partisan political antics and resigns.
Best Regards,

Executives fear many voters inclined to vote for Bush are now switching off Rather. or, perhaps, executives fear voters might be inclined to vote for Bush, and that wouldn't please certain major shareholders.

"The audience appears to becoming polarized," a top CBS source said from LOS ANGELES on Thursday. "Rightly or wrongly, we're being perceived as 'anti-Bush,' which I do not think is fair to Dan, who is a fine journalist... Your opinion doesnt matter...the ratings and what viewers perceive based on CBS' "journalism" is what matters.

"The audience appears to becoming polarized," a top CBS source said from LOS ANGELES on Thursday. "Rightly or wrongly, we're being perceived as 'anti-Bush,' which I do not think is fair to Dan, who is a fine journalist... of course we do not like to see the ratings coming back the way they are this week." There they go again, blaming the wrong person(s).

Why this is incredibly important:
Advertisers pay on a "cost per thousand" basis. That is, they pay a certain amount of $ per each thousand television sets tuned to their broadcast. That means that ABC with a 9.2 rating (9.2 percent of all the families in Chicago) and Rather with a 2.3 rating (2.3 percent of all families were watching Rather) ensured that ABC made 4 times as much money for their Evening news as CBS did.
This also effects the affiliates greatly.
Bad Day at Black Rock!
This will not be allowed to continue!

I guess the "vast right wing conspiracy" is even more "vast" than CBS thought. LOL

I had long ago given up on their "seeBS" news reports, I do not know who their advertisers are now because I have locked CBS out of my home. I used to watch their soap operas as time allowed, but no more. If Dan Rather gets into my home ever again it will be through another network or because he is foolish enough to invade my home.

When you factor out all the people who are tuning in just to watch Dan Rather squirm, their ratings would look even worse!

Finally THE PEOPLE SPEAK
CBS doesn't get it- it's not just the Bush supporters changing the channel - people don't like being treated like idiots. The rasmussen (spelling) poll yesterday showed that only 27% believed that the documents were authentic. (Does that mean 73% are for Bush Smile)
I saw this on Drudge too. was not able to find URL to back it up. Has anyone found a site or article backing this up yet.

CBS' ratings are going in the can in the big cities! Since when are big cities GOP strongholds?
This is big! CBS News's partisanship has been outed to such an extent it is now "thoroughly discredited."
The sh*t is hitting the fan!

I was amazed at what was in this Drudge Report. It's based on actual ratings numbers. Viacom, CBS execs, and advertisers must be really concerned. Just shows you the incredible power of the consumer, specifically CBS News viewers, to just turn off Mr Rather. Good for them.
