GET INVOLVED NOW!
A few days ago, I recommended a unified effort to use letters to the Editor to fight this fight. See original post Link to Original Post
The first issue set deals with Mr. Kerry's foriegn policy. The material is only suggested. If there's other issues you want to tackle, do so, but please make sure you're doing something. This election is too important for us not to be involved.
Go to the link below. The Freep United site has links for finding the email address for the letter to the editor section of your newspaper. It contains a few tips, It also has the first set of issues, with source quotes and a few example letters to the editor.
Get Involved Now!
Each week we'll add another set of issues and example letters. We'll als put together some special issues. One of them will be coming in the next day or two. We'll be pulling togehter all the information available that destroys the DAN RATHER LIEFEST...
Thanks

Mrs. Heinz-Kerry and her connection to The Tides Foundation is not new news. The Tides Foundations connection to moveon.org isnt breaking news, either. Nor is moveon.orgs connection to Texans for Truth. What is lesser known is the Communist Partys willingness to back Kerry in this election. Theyve encouraged their members to vote for him instead of their own candidate. Their sole reason? Getting rid of President Bush. The W.W.W.P. (The Socialist Party) openly brags of infiltrating the unions. They brag about having Party members placed in positions to negotiate contracts for union memberships. Many of the people who give money to these organizations and political parties are common to all of them as financial endorsers - except for The Tides Foundation. Theyve created a loophole. Its called the Tides Center. Many of these individuals and organizations also finance International A.N.S.W.E.R., Greenpeace, and other such political activism. CBS has some members of the Communist Party employed in rather high places as well. A comparative analysis between The Communist Manifesto and the current mission statements of several known groups and political parties is also in order. Pop Quiz: Guess whose philanthropic trust is financing, in part or in whole, all of these rabidly anti-American groups, lobbyists, PACs, and parties? Hint: The AFL-CIO is technically not a trust.
You dont have to believe me. Do your own research.

I've been following the links from Kerry 2004 to the various left and ultra left sites. Concentrating on the cpusa (though they do not directly endorse Kerry) and the Democratic Socialists of America who have formally endorsed Kerry. There is so much material there that letters must be selective but powerful. Will work on it tomorrow.

I THINK
ANOTHER VERY HIGH PRIORITY MAY NEED OUR EFFORTS EVEN MORE.
PLEASE, WRITE OR PHONE THE CHURCHES IN YOUR AREA AND GET THOSE WITH BUS MINISTRIES--EVEN VANS--TO DEVELOP A PROGRAM
TO USE
THEIR BUSSES
AND VANS
TO GET
AT LEAST
THEIR PEOPLE
TO THE POLLS.
It might be possible to coordinate loosely with the GOP or some other group--CAN LEGAL EAGLES TELL US?--TO GET CONSERVATIVE VOTERS TO THE POLLS.
I think that getting conservatives to the polls is a super high priority.
Blessings,

People also need to make contact with their local Republican party organization and volunteer for any campaigns in their area. I'm not doing enough, but I've been making some phone calls for candidates here in Louisiana. I've also given a great deal to our US Senate candidate.

I'm working on this one right now. Anyone interested can pick and choose for their own letters. I know it needs work.
Editor,
Polls across the nation continue to show that the war on terror and security are key issues that Americans will take with them into the voting booths this November. And paramount to the handling of these issues will be the foreign policy that the next president develops for our nation. We know how President Bush has and will likely continue to use foreign policy as a tool to fight world terrorism as it attempts to humble nations, kill indiscriminately and work towards the creation of an extremist Islamic empire.
But how will John Kerry formulate and utilize a foreign policy that will not take us back to September 10, 2001? We can only look at what Mr. Kerry has said and done during his Senate career, and to those who are supporting his candidacy. Based on his own votes over his 19 years in the Senate, Mr. Kerry appears to be formulating a foreign policy and a national security plan without the benefit of a strong military, or a strong and effective intelligence network. For in both of these areas, he has consistently voted to reduce spending almost indiscriminately. He has voted to:
· Kill the Defend America Act of 1996,
· Cut or eliminate almost every major military program including submarines, light infantry units, tactical fighter wings, the Navy's coastal mine-hunting program, and a significant forced retirement of 60,000 members of the armed forces.
· Slash military spending including pay raises on several occasions.
· Cut or eliminate almost every major military development program, including the B-2 Bomber and missile defense programs.
· Halt programs that would place or continue trade restrictions on nations such as Cuba, China, and Vietnam.
· Slash the budgets of intelligence agencies.
And while Mr. Kerry continually favored communist states including Nicaragua, Cuba, North Vietnam and later Vietnam, he has voted against US military efforts including Kosovo, the 1991 Gulf War, and voted against funding for our troops in Iraq, in a conflict that Mr. Kerry himself voted to authorize!
So, it should come as no surprise that Mr. Kerry now receives direct support in his presidential bid from such renowned organizations as the Democratic Socialists of America. Other leftist organizations such as the Communist Party of the US, Progressive Labor Party, the League of Revolutionaries, and International A.N.S.W.E.R, a communist backed anti-war organization, openly push for the defeat of President Bush, for they understand that John Kerry, not George Bush is a step toward the achievement of their totalitarian goals.
So as you enter the voting booth in November, keep in mind the importance of a strong and determined hand in the war on terror. Both of these candidates have established records to compare. Before you cast that ballot, ask yourself who would better prosecute and ultimately win this war.

Hooooya....
Great news. We need more ---many more. Looks like the Kerry campaign and the media are ramping up on Iraq. Because of the recent large scale bombings they think Bush is weak... We can answer that very effectively, but we have to answer.
I tried registering for the online edition of the Aiken Standard, but I don't know if I'll be able to access the letters to the editor there or not. I hope I can.

I tried registering for the online edition of the Aiken Standard, but I don't know if I'll be able to access the letters to the editor there or not. I hope I can. It's the only letter they printed today. Hope you can get on. I wish there was a way for us on FR to organize a better letter writing campaign, but the threads die too quickly.
To: MACVSOG68
The threads do die quickly, but we'll get it going. One of the things I'm thinking of is that as letters are published, we get copies of them and post them with the authors permission of course while keep directing people to information sources for writing their own. I don't know what the circulation of the Aiken Standard is, but I'll be your letter was read by hundreds if not thousands of uncommitted voters. That's what we need. You had the only letter printed and on Sunday as well. The liberals didn't have anything out there in the letter section. You're setting a tone in your community. That's critical.
Thanks for the great effort. We're not giving up. People are writing. It's just a few now, but it will get bigger.

Thanks John, I'll try and keep up my end of it. It would be nice if FR itself had a letter section that somehow didn't die, because I would bet that there have been quite a few we've not even heard about. Peach has had several letters published and they were excellent. Maybe a weekly thread linking to all the other threads would work. Not sure, but someone more directly involved with FR might have some thoughts.
You are right though, we all need to get those letters cranked up.
