IS DAN RATHER DECEITFUL, OR DELUDED, OR BOTH?

It will be altogether fitting and proper when Kerryites gather
To reminisce about the body of "work" of their man, Dan Rather.

With his hand in the cookie jar, Dan's been caught, figuratively speaking.
Despite his desperate denials, off camera, he really must be freaking!

Poof! There went what was left of Dan's journalistic reputation,
As Dan gambled big to create an election-transforming sensation.

CBS and Dan now are twisting slowly in the wind.
But, their big Bush "exposure," they refuse to rescind.

I suspect he was tilted by his daughters burgeoning career in rat politics.....may have done this for her....but it backfired!

My fear is after the election is over, a new wave of calls to regulate the internet will be heard. If the dems and left think the internet was the main factor in a defeat, they will stop at nothing close it down.

We never thought CFR would be successful because of the regulation (outlawing) of free politcal speech prior to an election. They did it then. They will do it now.

The old media loves CFR. In their perfect world, CFR insured Rather could have run that story without answer from the public. The internet will be regarded as a loophole which must be closed. Because of the incumbency protection of CFR, closing that loophole will have the same bipartisan support as CFR.

My point is that it would make him deceitful.

Deceit is the mascot of progressives.

Anything that Dan Rather says on TV about this or that, will be suspect in my mind.

As far as I know, it is up to Rather to furnish irrefutable proof that his papers are authentic. He has not done so. While there is irrefutable proof that his papers are fake.

I want Rather to try to reproduce the papers with any mechanical or electric typewriter that he says they were written on.

Yes, it's just not as subtle as calling states for democrats with 20 percent of the precincts reporting but waiting till 60 percent of precincts report before calling states for republicans.

Drudge/WA Post have all the topics uncovered by Freepers and backed up by "their experts." Rather is toast. A great job was done on this research.

God help us if that happens.

We have to make up our minds that we will not let it happen. We depended on at least one branch of government protecting our right to free political speech withour fear of government retribution when CFR was being pushed though. Didn't happen. We know that this is something we have to protect. No one else will do it for us.

BTW, FOX News is giving Rathergate alot of attention this morning.

Dan Rather is too wealthy and has too much power. He is deceitful and self-delusional. He is not a very 'nice guy' by the accounts of those that have to work with him: He speaks softly and carries a sharp knife. Dan is just like the French.

Heard something rather(?) chilling about him recently. Apparently some of his reports from Vietnam which were supposed to be under fire, where actually recreations, done for the folks back home and raise his ratings.

My Dad a chopper pilot will vouch for that. rather came up to him and other pilots and wanted them to go start something or just shoot at nothing because he needed a story.Dad refused so rather went on down to the next unit and paid them to do what my Dads unit wouldn't.

Since CBS wants to bring up things from 1970 or so, maybe we should bring up Rather's history from back then.

CBS and the old MSM still think they control the dispersion of news and information. In the past, they could control the situation and direct it to fit their needs.

Thank God those days are over; the Internet has seen to that. Conservatives now have a voice and it is getting stronger. We now can affect opinion; we now can get our side of the debate heard; we now are a force to be reckoned with.

This is only one part of the "information" revolution that is reshaping the world as we know it.

"Anything that Dan Rather says on TV about this or that, will be suspect in my mind."

Hell, ANYTHING presented by CBS news has been "suspect" for me since the days of Walter Cronkheit. I haven'te even seen Rather's face "on the air" except for flipping through the channels--I will NOT watch ANY CBS "news" stories. They have NO crebitility.
