DNC TO LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON BUSH GUARD DUTY:  WILL RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT 1978 CAMPAIGN LIT

**Exclusive**

Faster than a CBS eye can blink, dogged Dems are set to take to the airwaves anew hoping to keep questions about President Bush's National Guard duty in play, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Candidate Kerry apparently has rejected former President Clinton's advice not to get further locked in a 2004 Vietnam quagmire.

"George W. Bush's campaign literature claimed that he 'served in the U.S. Air Force.' The only problem? He didn't,"  slams a new DNC press release set for distribution.

Dems will attempt to increase the heat on Bush ahead of his planned Tuesday address before The National Guard Association gathering in Las Vegas.

In 2000, Bush opened his National Guard Association speech: "General, I am reporting for duty."

MORE

Kerry plans to speak to the group on Thursday, but he personally hold back questioning Bush's service, sources explain.

The coordinated nationwide effort this week by the DNC has been code-named "Project Fortunate Son."

"George Bush has a clear pattern of lying about his military service," DNC Communications Director Jano Cabrera blasts in the new release. "From 1978 to the present day, George Bush has refused to tell voters the truth about his service. It's time for the President to come clean."

"Flyers distributed to Texas voters during Bush's failed Congressional race say 'he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Texas Air National Guard.' But according to Air Force officials, Air National Guardsmen are not counted as members of the active-duty Air Force."

ROFL this is absolutely crazy! They must think this actually means something to the people other than their rabid drooling followers! My jaw dropped when I saw this, how stupid and inept can a campaign be!

"....is anyone else tired of hearing about swift boats and typewriters?" You've only just signed in yesterday. How bad could it be? There's plenty of other stuff to read here. the biggest news of the day is...

They are fighting an OLDmedia battle in a NEWmedia era.
(sort of their 9/10 approach to a 9/11 world)

Like Dan Rather they think they can say anything and it will be believed with impunity. This is hitler's big lie theory. Kerry is copying ADOLF HITLER! They are just looking to get about 5-10% to believe the lie in order to cover fraud.

It also keeps the vets off the news and kerry's viet nam character off the news.

The problem is that this will be debunked AGAIN (seriously missing a few drills? that is their best "analysis"?)

KERRY RELEASE YOUR RECORDS AND LETS SEE HOW MANY DRILLS YOUR SLEEPWALKING LAZY POSTERIOR MISSED. But Kerry must have something to hide.

And Kerry served in the Naval Reserves, not the Navy. Is it just me or is Kerry throwing stones in a glass house?

"Good grief don't these idiots realize that the ANG is a part of the USAF?"

This appears to be what they think is their smoking gun. I don't know if one is considered to have served in the AF if they were in the Guard. At this point my sense is that these pointless nit pick attacks have become both exhausting and annoying and will be an ever greater turnoff to the general public. Have these people not heard the admonition about what to do when you have dug yourself a hole?

Is Drudge getting his smear from DU. That's what they're gloating about over there? From Toonces:

They don't have a choice. They know what's coming soon with the swifties and others - they make no secret of it. It's anticipatory strikes to muddy the waters. In fact, it could so outrage the public the public might be less inclined to hear anything about vietnam and Kerry's protests afterward.

Exactly. I said the same in what I just posted. Muddying the waters is exactly what the RATS are doing. So Vietnam becomes one big annoying buzz in the voter's ears that they tune out.  Like a US Air Force jet throwing up chaff to turn a heat seeking missile off course.

Maybe they'll change their minds, since a pro-Kerryite is currently losing the bidding on the IBM Selectric Composer that is being auctioned on Ebay.

If you go to this webpage you can see the bids history. Someone who disagrees with Dan Rather is winning.

If you click on the following links you can see opposing "about me" comments by former high bidder "superscripted_th" and current high bidder "john_kerry_blew"

Those campaigns were way more issue oriented than this inept attempt by Kerry. At least their few followers were passionate about their candidate. This one they just want Bush beaten.

Good grief, how dumb are these people? They actually draw a moral equivalency between JFKerry's treasonous behavior and some nebulous BS about how the President "can't prove" he completed his NG service (umm, can you say 'honorable discharge'?). And they think because the attack on Kerry worked, their attack on Bush will work equally well. Dumbest campaign in my lifetime.

There is a book on Laura bush written by some type of 'Dowd' person, can't remember her name, but she cited on C-SpanII that Laura killed one person at the age of 16, not being at fault. It has haunted her for life. If they use that as smear, I hope someone will sue them.
The Dems, Dan Rather are being criminals in their personal attacks/defamation, but if it gets too personal - they should be held accountable. One has to understand, most dislike by other countries regarding Pres. Bush comes from the disrespect for the Presidency by the Democrats. First Amendment my butt, but it is not ok to disrespect the First Amendment.

They're basing this new attack on a "Corn article". You know who that idiot is don't you?; the guy is on FOX all the time and wrote a book about Bush being a liar.

By the way .. when Bush signed up for the ANG, didn't he have to attend normal training by THE AIR FORCE ..?? I've seen comments about Bush being IN TRAINING FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS (regular training and then flight training). Wouldn't Bush have been assigned to the ANG after training ..??

Pukin Dog - can you shed some light on this issue.

I hope Susan Estrich loses sleep over this. She looks bad enough and promised that the Donks were going to come up out of the trenches to fight dirty. Time to scream loudly about Senator VVAW's multiple negotiations with the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong. That's worse than the fraudulent medals. Then wipe his botoxed beak in his miserable Senate "record."

The DNC is running another Bush National Guard attack. Wait a minute, isn't the DNC run by Terry McAuliffe, a Clinton crony? I guess the Clinton boys are going all out to ensure the Kerry meltdown.
