SANTA FE (AP) - Santa Fe police say an anti-war protest turned physical at a site where the state Department of Transportation is considering banning demonstrations.
The scuffle broke out Friday between an anti-war protester and the sole pro-Bush protester on a traffic island at a busy intersection.
Robert DiGiulio, who carried a sign comparing President Bush to a Nazi, says Richard Corrow hit him in the face and knocked him out of his wheelchair.
But Corrow, whose sign offered a $1,000 reward to anyone who can prove Bush lied about Iraq, says DiGuilio started it by screaming at him and ramming him with the wheelchair.
Peace Action New Mexico has been organizing protests at the corner for two years.
No arrests were made.
A traffic engineer has argued the protests could distract drivers.

Kick 'im inna spokes! LOL!
Typical tactic during NHL games as well. Its called "instigating" - Player 1 throws a hard check or illegally trips another player, Player 2 retaliates against Player 1, referee sees only Player 2 retaliating, Player 2 feels shame in the penalty box while Player 1 is painted as the innocent victim.
Rule Number 1 during public Freeps - make SURE your side has a video camera recording the action at all times, and have at least one videographer operating from a hidden location that provides a clear line-of-sight of the action. It could keep you out of jail and/or the poorhouse if you get sued. One camcorder is good, two are better.
Rule Number 2 strongly discourages lone Freeps for the reason that it makes Rule Number 1 difficult if not impossible to do.
ROFL!!
..never that high. We are from Florida so we can't make the adjustments quickly enough. We need to stay at around 10,000 or below to avoid altitude sickness. It doesn't help that we are in our late sixties. It's all we can do to stay in shape enough to do a ten miler.
We're going to Taos this year.
...and its' such a nice receipt, too.
This would be laughable except I got accidentally rammed by a wheelchair driver once, and it hurt like the dickens!

Yes.
Ooops! I am so sorry Jim, I was thinking of a dim when I said that. Am I banned yet? (I met Jim at the March For Justice so I have NO excuse)
That's Ok as long as he attacks you first. Just don't retaliate by beating him unconscious with his own wheelchair.
That's Ok as long as he attacks you first. It has to be self defense. Remember, don't retaliate by beating him unconscious with his own wheelchair.
We know that protesting is often an adult, full-contact sport. I would suggest leaving the kids at home and keep the lenses focused on the opposition. Having a camera team behind you and watching the rear of your own demonstration line-- to catch folks rading from the rear-- would probably help, too.
I had someone run over my foot with his motorized wheelchair once but I was in so much pain he got away before I could retaliate. Dang that hurt!
That's because you look like such a bad-ass. : )
Ya beat me!
Sound familiar? "I was in Vietnam. Anything you say about me is an affront to my superior patriotism.
I agree whole heartedly. Theres nothing worse than that. ;-)
No offense meant to people in wheelchairs, of course.
Funny how liberal after they have ruined a place, used taxes to give themselves good jobs at good wager with good pensions, move to a low cost, well run, rational, safe conservative rural area, infiltrate local government and start all over again. They are like a political virus. The live off the host, weaken it, reproduce and move on to the next healthy host.
ROTFL... Oooooookay ;0)
