Alright, already.
Enough of the analytical pieces.
There's more than enough proof that CBS, Rather, Kerry and the DNC engaged in wholesale deception to dupe TV audiences, and voters.
Now what are we gonna do about it?
There are multiple legal avenues ----- plus economic sanctions against CBS------ that can be employed.
Post your opinions here. Then let's get on with it.
OK.
I don't think so. Hugh Hewitt, Power Line and other bloggers are lawyers, and they know all the facts. They probably could file lawsuits also.
Filing a civil suit (like here in CA) cost at least $5000 court costs plus lawyer fees.
I would suggest that CBS be required to file with the FEC as a 527 organization. I wonder what a ton of letters to the FEC would produce. Nothing I know but it would be a hoot to watch Dan report about it on the evening news.
Is there a list of advertisors?
How about we get Richard Mellon Scaife to come out and pubically offer a million dollars for anyone who could duplicate the memos using the technology of the time. That would really make the dems go bonkers. They'd be railing against a VRWC while not being able to prove the authenticy of the memos. Priceless. Good public foil versus George Soros too.
"report violations to federal agencies, FCC"
look where the Janice Jackson costume issue went; it is causing the NFL and the network to really pay more attention to what they are broadcasting: more responsibility IOW.
This issue should have the same effect: broadcasters need to be put on notice that they have to be MORE RESPONSIBLE for what they broadcast. I don't know the FCC rules in this area, but this has to have broken some rules!
In the meantime we need to be good donors to Free Republic.
This whole mess shows how important Free Republic is in today's world.
So those who haven't contributed to Free Republic should start now.
Those who can afford a monthly donation, please start a monthly donation.
Those of us who donate monthly, can throw in a few extra bucks or increase our monthly donation.
Without Free Republic, this discussion would not be happening and CBS would not be running from the truth raised by Freepers!

"SuperscriptGate" Again Proves FR Critical to the Cause...PLEASE Consider Donating Monthly!

The CBS FraudGate episode once again has proven how important FR is to the conservative cause. Although blogs are taking credit for it, all here know the investigation was started on the Forum before the CBS program had ended, most of the blogs were merely picking up on the information posted here.
Free Republic has always been supported by it's fans and readers. It takes no advertising, has no sugar daddies and is beholden to no one. Jim has always stated he will keep this thing going as long as the participants believe it is worthwhile. To pay the bills, a fine group of people run a quarterly "FReepathon". They can run up to several weeks, divert our attention and are labor intensive.
You can help put FR on a solid financial basis by signing up as a new monthly donor. Whether you are new participant or have never supported FR or have regularly contributed quarterly, please consider becoming a "monthly". Five or ten dollars a month via credit card can be a painless way to insure the long term health of this site. Don't you thnk Free Republic is worth it?
All FR needs is about 500-700 more people donating $10 /month and FReepathons are a thing of the past!
That's really excellent! I bookmarked it.
First and foremost, the WH and RNC should carry the water on this one. They need to use the President's bully pulpit to lay out the case against CBS and demand an apology and a retraction. If they stay above the fray, then any other effort will go nowhere.
"They need to use the President's bully pulpit to lay out the case against CBS and demand an apology and a retraction. If they stay above the fray, then any other effort will go nowhere."
I respectfully disagree. The President should be very Presidential and do his job and stay graciously above the fray, as he has been doing. Don't be sucked into THEIR agenda: stay on message with HIS agenda. I think the water needs to be carried by the OUTRAGED PUBLIC etc.
Ahhh...vote for George W. Bush, maybe.
awesome idea
Yep Klayman stay out!
I think it will all change when the WH lets em have it (which they will)
"There also needs to be a 2-3 page text handout that explains the issue succinctly (lots of white space) for the layman who doesn't follow FR / blogs."
Agree - but it had better be made to fit on one page.
Every single day, the RNC talking point should be that the MSM cannot be trusted. Or I suppose they would have to say something more PC like "lacks credibility". This has to become a dominant theme and be repeated enough to penetrate through to those who only get their news from the MSM. Of course, we know it, but look how many people still fall for their crap. Every time I have a discussion with an aquaintance who is trying to inform herself, she can repeat democratic talking points verbatim. MSM = DNC . (period)
You didn't read my reply, you interperted it.
Kamizazis fly one mission. Smart people fight their small battles, win and move on to the next one.
Everyone on my email list got the link sent to them this morning.
Next week, I will be sending that link to the boards of the key advertisers of 60 minutes asking them to take action. Again, I will be contacting the active one on my email list to contact the boards of the advertisers.
Agreed. Maybe one page of summary, and one page of the forgery and a Word reproduction of the forgery, on the back of the summary page.
Yeah, that I like.
Somebody p-u-le-e-z-e get the ad list for Rather and 60 Minutes.
Thanks!
Please send it to your email list, and then use it with advertisers of 60 Minutes to wake them up.
