I would disagree. Not all evidence whatsoever points to UBL being dead. The only evidence of this is he had not released a video tape.
But the fact remains UBL was never being hunted by SOF on the ground before. The fact is UBL is more concerned with living than bragging at this point.
If UBL was dead most likely more intercepts (on the Intel side) saying this would have come out by now.
Zawahiri and Omar have both clearly managed to avoid capture. Omar has not put out a video either, yet he is clearly alive.
Yes the closest indication of an order in the article is: American and Afghan officials [note, uncited source] have predicted that militant attacks which have already killed aid workers and government officials as well as hundreds of combatants this year will intensify with the approach of Oct. 9 presidential elections.

I think the gist of w1andsodidwe's post was that the interecepts exist, but have not been made public.
And if you were ever on either the production side or user side of such intercepts you'd know FReerepublic isn't a SCIF so wouldn't expect to see them posted.
