NEW YORK -- Yesterday, Goliath CBS News was delivered a smooth stone to the forehead by a FReeper.

A poster in the FreeRepublic.com conservative news forum mentioned something peculiar about two documents CBS’s 60 Minutes claimed on September 8 were generated by now deceased Lieutenant Colonel Jerry B. Killian regarding an allegedly National Guard-evading George W. Bush in 1973.

Within minutes following the broadcast, FReeper "TankerKC" wrote this to FReeper "Howlin'":

WE NEED TO SEE THOSE MEMOS AGAIN!

Since then, news of the potential forgery glitch spread like wildfire from blog to blog and into the mainstream press - especially that of CBS competitors ABC and NBC.

You've hit the nail on the head. They now realize that there are thousands of us out here "sitting around in our pajamas" who do not accept as fact everything they spew! They are "under the microscope" now. They also know that by broadcasting our various blog addresses that more people will become circumspect about anything they preach and far more people will do some checking on their own before accepting as fact what the MSM preaches!

The cat is out of the bag re: the MSM and there's absolutely no way to get it back in! Every minute spent at our computers posting/reading at Free Republic has the potential to change history! It's a privilege to be a part of that. Thank you Jim Robinson for your vision. I'm so proud to be a "Freeper"!

Don't forget the pajamas part

That only makes CBS look worse. They had the memos for weeks and didn't spot the fraud, but Freepers could do it before they even got out of their pajamas.
