**Kerry Desecrates Flag (Picture)**
Yahoo & AP ^ | September 11, 2004 | Joseph Ranos

Posted on 09/10/2004 11:30:26 PM PDT by Sonar5

This is an example of John Kerry desecrating our Flag on Friday September 10, 2004. He has no respect and demonstrates it by walking all over our Flag.

Image From: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/pl/021103kerry&a=&tmpl=sl&ns=&l=1&e=24&a=0&t=&prev=23

******** My Comments:

His latest Mantra, affordable healthcare is on a banner hanging on the wall, and that is the wording on the floor...

"Affordable healthcare... A Stronger America"

It was put there by his people who planned this event...

Kerry is clearly seen walking on the flag... And Flag Desecration is an Issue...

And YES, I support My American Legion for a Flag Amendment.

Furthermore,

From:
http://www.legion.org/?section=our_flag&subsection=flag_code&content=flag_position

e) The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.

From:
http://www.legion.org/pdf/flagcode.pdf

§ 6. Time and occasions for display
(a) It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset
on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic
effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated
during the hours of darkness.

And note (b):

§ 8. Respect for flag
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the
flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags,
and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a
signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the
floor, water, or merchandise.
(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and
free.

It goes to character & integrity, and that picture shows kerry has NEITHER.

And More:

Quote:
(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner
whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or
handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or
boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising
signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

And this is an ISSUE according to MY AMERICAN LEGION, of which I am a PROUD Member....

In the last Issue, they asked each Candidate:

From:
http://www.impact04.legion.org/vote.php

8 ) Do you support a Constitutional Amendment to return to the Congress the right to protect the American flag?

President George W. Bush
Desecration of our flag is an insult to the Americans who have fought and died to ensure that our Nation remains a home for liberty.
That is why I steadfastly support a constitutional amendment to authorize the Congress to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag of the United States.

For more than 200 years, the American flag has served as a symbol of our country's enduring freedom and unity. Old Glory has welcomed
generations of immigrants to America's shores and is displayed proudly on homes, at schools, and over businesses across
our country. During times of war, our flag has rallied our citizens to defend the blessings of liberty at home and abroad.
It has accompanied our troops into battle and been given to grieving families at the grave sites of fallen heroes. Today,
as our brave men and women in uniform fight terrorism and advance freedom, the flag inspires patriotism and pride across
our Nation and around the world.

Senator John Kerry
I believe that amending the Constitution is a grave and serious matter, and should only be pursued regarding issues that touch upon
the essential nature of us as a free people. We are a nation founded on dissent, on the right of all of us to support, or
protest, the actions of our government, or to speak to the issues of the day. Sometimes, what is said, or what is done as a
form of expression, is abhorrent to me and to many others. Burning our flag is an act that I personally cannot understand nor
condone. This is the flag I fought under, and too many died under. But I took an oath when I entered the Navy and when I was
elected to the Senate to support the Constitution. Our country is defined by the rights we protect, and we who have put our
lives on the line also fought to defend the right of people to do things that we disagree with, however abhorrent we may find
their actions.

NOTE how Kerry dodges the question, but never really asays no, but it is obvious to me how he feels....
The above Picture PROVES IT...

For me, THIS IS AN ISSUE... And I suspect it may interest others as well. People died and are dying today to
protect those colors, and I think for them, it may be an issue as well.

Regards,
Joe

I thought he dis-respected the flag - when it was upside down on his book cover many years ago. Look it up. He was the mainstream spokesperson about Vietnam Veterans opposing the war, back then.

HE LIED!!!

My first reaction to this was "Come on, this is no big deal," but your post among others points out that there's just a WRONGNESS to it. I'd be saying the same if it were W doing it, but I don't think he'd get into that position.

When a campaign begins to collapse, it seems they can do no right. I think his whole being is full of this, he wants the race to be over so he can get back to the slopes. He's jsut a whining rich boy who never grew up, blaming everyone else for his problems, doing extreme sports, marry a woman so he can live in HER five houses.

Ack, a vulgar, humorless, nothing of a man.

This is unbelievable...I have to send this one around. A stronger America and here he is stomping all over it. Oh maaaaaaan, is this dude gone. How stupid do you have to be?? I guess it never occurred to him; "Hey, uuuhhh guys, you know I am running for Prez..Ummm maybe it isn`t such a great idea that I step all over the flag while doing so? Know what I mean?" I guess he turned down stomping on the flag of Al-Qaida or France.

Oh come on folks. We can find a lot more damning stuff on Kerry than him walking on elaborately decorated piece of carpet!!!

Also stands2reason is correct. It isn't a flag. If I wear a picture of a flag on my hat thats not a flag either. It's a picture.

This kind of thing makes us look silly.

"It was put there by his people who planned this event... Kerry is clearly seen walking on the flag... And Flag Desecration is an Issue..." (As was posted earlier).

sKerry's team must be the ones who ordered it painted on the floor.

Wish there was a way to get this picture to every American Legion and veteran's group.

He is totally disgusting!!!!

"It was clearly thoughtless on his part. I think this picture may be a big problem for Kerry if it is used the "right" way. By that I mean that it should be promoted as an example of Kerry being thoughtless."

Like maybe being shown on Drudge's site???

That would be great to see it on drudge's site...

I would like to also see every Veteran see this...

I wonder if he will roll this out at the National Guard Officers convention he is speaking at next week...

That would spark some controversy...

He is so pathetic...

And folks, I realize this may not be a hot button issue for some of you, but you should respect those who feel it is.

I would never do something like that.

I would demand it be removed and fire everyone involved.

Kerry, OTOH, mocks the flag by continuing its use at every event.

And you can't tell me he doesn't realize he is doing it.

Regards,
Joe

He is beyond hopeless. When our soldiers are fighting and dying for our country and our flag - this idiot is tramping all over it!

I'd like to have our fighting men and women get a copy of this picture. Wish there was a source to send it to them. Maybe someone in the military who is a FReeper can distribute it.

"Healthcare" only polls 15% currently, while "Terror" and "Economy" poll 35% each...why does Kerry continue to focus on a losing issue?

This is what losers do.

I'm up for it....

This Story needs legs, and every one we know should see it... Including the references for display, which cover the image.

Especially This Part

" (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner
whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or
handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or
boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising
signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. "

That carpet looks pretty temporary to me. And I don't think they will keep it either....

Pass the word folks...

Thanks,
Sonar5
Joe

Kerry's a vet and he's been a Senator for years now. Although it's only a carpet with the image of the flag on it he should of had it removed and then did his thing.

It shows a lack of common sense on his part.
