On September 11, 2001 our nation was attacked. Like many New Yorkers Steve Golding lost a friend in the World Trace Center attack. He created a flash video that became one of the most watched videos on the internet. I was webmaster for WABC radio host Steve Malzberg at the time and contacted Steve Golding to see if we could run the video from our website. It was the most requested video that we had on the site. It is appropriate that on this anniversary I link to it again so that we can be reminded what this anniversary is all about. Why our friends, neighbors and relatives who serve in our armed forces are sacrificing their lives. It must also serve as a reminder why we must mnake the right choice on November 2, 2004. Too many of my fellow New Yorkers have forgotten or at least they have become complacent, thinking we can negotiate with evil. We cannot. I am linking to the video so that we can remind ourselves of that day and also so that some newbies to this site who have never seen it may have the opportunity to view it. You can view the video by clicking on the link below, a new window will pop up. It is a large file (7 megs) so please be patient.
Steve Golding is also a member of Rolling Thunder and the webmaster of http://www.powforum.org
After the attack and during the recovery a memorial light was put in place. Two powerful spotlights facing the sky where the towers stood. The following shots were taken by me from pier 58 in Brooklyn on April 13, 2002 one day before the lights were switched off. It was also my 50th birthday.

Hello, my good friend. Thank you for pinging me to this thread so that I may grieve along with you.
I can see the single beam of light coming out of Ground Zero right outside my door. The town I work in lost the most victims in a NJ town, 47 in total and the town I live in lost 15 people, the town my husband works in lost 11. Two of my nurses colleagues lost their husbands (one had a 4 month old daughter), one of my neighbors lost a cousin, my husband's cousin escaped out of Tower One, as did a cowoker's sister. My Jersey hospital which pours out of one of the major tunnels linking NJ to NY treated 96 people that night, two were transferred to a major burn center at a different hospital (I was called in to work, but my husband refused to let me go in, I was 7 months pg.). Let us never forget those who died and those heroes who ran in to save others. 750 children who were under the age of 21 are without a parent due to 911 50 widows were pg from Cantor Fitzgerald alone. Ironically enough, I spent my day at a birthday party of a cousin who was born on 9/11/01, we were celebrating life today.
Yes, a government that will tell you where to work, when to work, take your kids into a facility so they can be properly indoctrinated (sort of like they are doing now!). Geez. It's not good what is happening.
Saying a prayer for all those who were lost and their families and friends. Thanks for sharing. I am sorry so much tragedy touched your family on that awful day.
For the first time, I had to explain the significance of today to my four-year-old daughter, my only child.
She wanted to know why Mommy and Daddy were so sad when we watched some of the memorial services.
I tell you, that was damn hard.
Just to think of all the firefighters, policeman, investment bankers, etc., etc., who were ruthlessly cut down in the prime of their lives...it's too much grief/anger to shoulder.
All of these stories are so poignant, they need to be immortalized for eternity, so that others can learn from the mistakes of the past, particularly the laxity-with regard to anti-terrorism campaigns-of the Clinton administration.
T.F.T.P . Groaning inwardly bump.
Thank you for your service to our country!

Jamie Gorelick is about as culpably negligent as they come. How she can look herself in the mirror or appear on telvision - after her incalculable failures - shows she has an audacity and a guilt-deafness that even Bill Clinton would admire.
I wonder - did the 911 report mention anything about the first world trade center bombing's ties to Iraq?
Thank You for The Ping.
And, yes...Yesterday 9 -11 was and always will be a very upsetting Day for Thousands of people, including all of us.
We Prayed for the Families of those lost and we also Prayed for our US Military all over the World...Sacrificing ALL to Keep US SAFE and FREE.
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...The Land of The FREE and The Home of The BRAVE.
Cacique, bless you for this. This should be a daily reminder to ALL Americans of what happened that fateful day. Curse the demons that perpetrated this evil, God wrap your loving arms around those we lost, and give solace to the loved ones and fellow Americans left behind........and God bless our President who will do all in his power to see that this never happens again!
We should have insisted that the government respond to the attempt to knock over the two buildings in 1993, with the fervor that we belatedly demanded after 911. We all knew what was in their minds, when we saw the extent of that parking garage damage. We had the capability to envision the devastation that they wished to wreak. The energy spent on rooting out newly discovered terrorists, and finding all their connections, should be the same, whether or not he succeeds in his mission.
What I've learned from the 93 bombing, is that when a sniper misses a family member, you don't then treat the sniper and his cult any less ruthlessly than you would have if he had killed the family member. You treat him and his insane cult just as if he/they had succeeded the first time. We the people let clinton get away with not taking the MohamMadmen seriously, partly because we thought that the buildings could never be made to come down. Our idiots in government whose job it is to outthink the terrorists let us down the same way the captain of the Titanic ignored the ice warnings. I guess the people on the Titanic were not to blame for that, but the analogy breaks down when you consider that they didn't elect their captain.
"I don't think they have really forgotten, but they have been made to feel guilty about our participation in the war. War is ugly and the media has played it up in a way that has seemed to take away the right we have to defend and protect. Good heavens! That is the ONLY true mandate our Federal Government has! That is what we seem to be forgetting."
You are probably right. I had not thought about it in terms of people feeling guilty about being involved in the war. I certainly don't feel guilty about going after those that want to kill us.
"Never forget."
If he says a word.
