This is a justice department issue.

It is also fodder for a congressional investigation. The congress is in session.

Write letters for a congressional investigation....immediately!

THEY'RE STILL GRASPING AT STRAWS!!!

What the Killian memos purported to show is that Mr. Bush defied a direct order to appear for the physical, that his performance as an officer was lacking in other ways and that Mr. Bush used family connections to try to quash any inquiry into his lapses.

"As importantly, 60 Minutes also interviewed close associates of Colonel Jerry Killian. They confirm that the documents reflect his opinions and actions at the time."

"Close associates"? You know they're lying through their teeth; they somehow skipped right over Killian's personnel director Rufus Martin, his wife and his son during their search for 'close associates' of Killian.

The White House distributed the four memos

Isn't it cruel to hand a rope to someone that wants to hang themselves?

My letter to CBS

This 60 Minutes II hit piece on Bush using documents that have not been authenticated, and are now being called likely forged papers just reinforces my families decision to continue to block CBS from our Direct TV line up. When I turn on the news I want to hear just that, the news of the day. I want to get caught up on what has been happening while I have been at work. I don't want to see a half hour of political propaganda, News with an agenda, which this week included Dan Rather parading an anti-war mom wearing a t-shirt saying Bush killed my son, I don't want to see stories blaming Bush for the suffering of the people in Florida, and I don't want to see CBS waving forged documents saying Bush failed to perform to National Guard standards.

The White House distributed the four memos from 1972 and 1973 after obtaining them from CBS News. The White House did not question their accuracy

This is what they relied on. In a way, it looks like Rove may be guilty.

Robert Strong was a friend and colleague of Killian who ran the Texas Air National Guard administrative office in the Vietnam era. Strong, now a college professor, also believes the documents are genuine.

Is it this Professor Robert Strong

Bartlett claimed in 1999 that Mr. Bush had joined a Boston unit. Bartlett told the Globe this week that he "misspoke.

Who is "Bartlett"? He's not mentioned anywhere else in the story.

The very fact that the DNC propaganda ministries of NBC, CBS, etc. are even reporting this tells the tale: This whole thing was an absolute fraud, and they know it. Whether they colluded in this willingly, or were simply duped because, in typical leftist knee-jerk fashion, they ran with it because it was something they wanted to hear, makes no ultimate difference.

If it wasn't for the internet, FR and blogs, they would have gotten away with this bit of political murder. The old media is dying; we simply need to continue to keep pushing it into it's self-dug grave.

"In the Wednesday broadcast, 60 Minutes said the purported memos were "documents we are told were taken from Col. Killian's personal file. The program says it consulted a handwriting analyst and document expert who believes the material is authentic."

How stupid.

Why would anyone ever keep these records?

There is a suspense (or destroy) date for most documents.

The democrats are eating crow!

Read this very carefully:

I don't see anything in the documents that is discordant with what were the times, what was the situation and what were the people involved

Liberal speak for, "This is the type of memo I believe he would have written, therefore it is what he wrote regardless of where it came from.".

These people are cretins and undeserving of respect, honor or notice...except to note that they are pathological liars bent on the destruction of all we hold dear and to take appropriate measures to protect against that.

At the deepest core of this, my own feeling remains, since I voiced it early on yesterday, that someone is trying to set Hitlery up for success in 2008.

If they are, what they do not realize (what they have never realized throughout history) is that this type of mud and filth cling to those slinging it. Ulitmatley it will cover them too and be outed.

Boycott email template. Copy and paste this in a blank email and insert correct information in the red areas, then email away!

Dear Sir/Madam,

CBS NEWS and its' "news magazines" 60 Minutes and 60 Minutes II, and especially Dan Rather, have been totally irresponsible and unprofessional in presenting and dealing with the fraudulent memos regarding President George W. Bush and his honorable service in the Air National Guard. This poor excuse for journalism is a blatant attempt to smear the President of the United States and unfairly influence the upcoming presidential election and usurp our democratic process.

Your product, copy & paste product name here, was one of the advertisers (sponsors) of this program. Sponsoring this trash disguised as journalism tarnishes your Brand name.

Until all the above at CBS News are held accountable, I am boycotting ALL your products and services, and I will be asking all my friends, family and associates to also boycott your company and its' products and services as well.

Sincerely,

I M Theconsumer (your name)

I guess the forger handed out talking-points, too! ;)

(The memos do not accomplish their purported end, in any case).

1972 Email Casts Doubt on Bush Guard Service
(2004-09-09) -- CBS reporter Dan Rather today released the text of a recently discovered email from then-Lt. George W. Bush's Air National Guard commanding officer which casts more doubt upon the military service of the man who would become the 43rd President of the United States.

The revelation of the email comes just hours after questions were raised about the authenticity of typewritten memos from the same officer, shown yesterday by Mr. Rather on 60 Minutes.

According to the previously unseen email message sent in May 1972 by squadron commander Jerry Killian, Lt. Bush phoned Col. Killian because "his internet connection was on the fritz and he couldn't IM me."

Lt. Bush apparently wanted to talk about "how he can get out of coming to drill from now through November."

According to Col. Killian's email, the young Bush wanted to go to Alabama to work as webmaster for a Republican candidate's website.

Mr. Rather said the authenticity of the 32-year-old email has been confirmed by several Nigerian officials who specialize in electronic funds transfer by email.

There's a likely suspect for producing the forgeries.
Only a college professor wold be too arrogant to bother selecting mono-spaced Courier typeface on Word, to produce period compatible documents.
