The most important thing you can do is to contact CBS and voice your disgust about Dan Rather. Second, about CBS's anti-Bush taint, and third, send media links to the controversy to the advertisers and lodge a complaint with the advertisers that they must repudiate the 60 Minutes hit piece. Do they want their products associated with a politically motivated hatchet job which turns out to be a fraud?

It appears that the three-pronged attack on the President's National Guard service has, well, three problems. First, the Texas Lt. Governor who said he got Bush into the TANG was not the Lt. Governor at the time Bush joined the TANG. Second,the fellow who told the Boston Globe that Bush did not report to a Mass. Guard unit when he went to the Harvard Business School has recanted his story. Third, the CBS memos are now all but totally discredited. The only issue remaining about CBS's use of the fraudulent documents is whether CBS was duped or was a willing co-conspirator.
This is not just a journalistic mistake. It was an out and out plot to undermine the Commander in Chief and oust our current leadership at a time of war. And it relied on forged military documents, a further sacrilege. The news is still full of the forgery. Talk about attempting an illegitimate election!
Funny how things change. Yesterday,I was disgusted - - last night I was amused - - today I'm ecstatic. This doesn't bode well for the dems.

I would suggest contacting your local CBS affiliate also.
In Atlanta the CBS affliate is a weak fourth in local news. They are very sensitive to these type of charges.
"More than a couple people heard about the papers," says the DNC staffer. "I've heard that they ended up with the Kerry campaign, for them to decide to how to proceed, and presumably they were handed over to 60 Minutes, which used them the other night. But I know this much. When there was discussion here, there were doubts raised about their authenticity."

From the inappropriate designation of "1stL", to the fact that the timeline is obviously wrong (re Sault's retirement), to the fact that it is obviously a word processor document, and not typewritten, to the obviously forged signature....
This is a dosument that should have been easily exposed as a fraud by a high school journalism student....
But, apparently the Kerry Campaign has had it in their posession, but under wraps, for some time. And now it miraculously turns up in the hands of Dan Rather...and he is running with it as though he has the exclusive on the discovery of the Rosetta Stone.
I heard some dimwitted bimbette on this morning's infotainment show postulate that it was all an elaborate Karl Rove hoax, disreputably perpetrated on CBS.
I have a more straight forward theory...
Basically the "story" is about the dirty forger who was trying to dupe the media into becoming "unwittingly" complicit in a conspiracy to slander a candidate.
From whence could these documents originate? And who could deliver them to the media with sufficient credentials so that that...even that paragon of media professionalism...that man with over a century of broadcast excellence on his resume...that unbiased, hard hitting, bulldog of an investigative journalist...Dan Rather..could have been unswervingly convinced of their authenticity, even after they were thoroughly, and painstakingly pored over to vett their origins and to ensure their authenticity?

The good folks over at MSNBC seem to have missed all the details regarding the forgeries. The slant of this article is unbelievable. It gives the impression that the documents fill in missing details that the White House has been reluctant to provide. See the following link :

This is a hit piece against the president and does more to dispute that these are forgeries than to be balanced.
It also contains the provably false assertion by the Boston Globe that Pres. Bush was to train with a Boston unit.
Pres. Bush was given a DISCHARGE. Why would someone NOT in the military train with a military unit? Ridiculous.
I received my honorable discharge 3 years ago from the Army. What -- am I supposed to be reporting for duty someplace and I don't know about it????
