Do Dems tell thier kids stories about Karl Rove instead of the Bogeyman?

It is hard to believe that someone in the WH did not recognize exactly what a pile of forged excrement CBS was waving around. They were supposed to be memos to self.
Bush and WH would have no idea what someone could have written and stashed at home.
Ergo...how COULD they comment?

Rush always tells us to "Follow the Money" when looking for culprits. In this case, I amend that advice to "Follow the Power".
Who is about to lose a key position in the Kerry campaign and needed to make a big splash quick to keep that job? Let's get that list... or the person who SHOULD have been on it, yet wasn't ... and you may have your schemer.

American Spectator is reporting that the Kerry Campaign received them from a "former military officer" and that they foisted them on CBS.

Thank God for the internet. Ten years ago they would have gotten away with this $h*t.

Bingo! Is it legally possible for FatAss to save the day for the Democrats in October? Say, Kerry has an accident or something. What happens to the Democratic ticket?

He's everywhere! He's Everywhere! Yep and I have it on good authority that Rove is responsible for Kerry being forced on an unsuspecting DNC.

I just can't believe the level of stupidity it would take to forge the documents in this way. A smart person would try to find out the typical typewriter used in the setting and use it, not a word processor. A smart person would look at other documents that had been released and mimick them as closely as possible - use correct format for the date, etc.
If you were going to go through the risky effort of forging a document, wouldn't you be a bit more careful? To type it in Word or Openoffice, or whatever - I just can't believe the idiocy. And of course, the stupidity of CBS and Rather.
To: elmer fudd
Don't forget CBS authenticated the docs with an "expert", then followed up with a confirmation from someone who actually claimed to be there when they were signed.

Catch this paragraph from a CBS News story (ironic) of Aug 31:
"Leading Democrats describe a command structure often frozen -- or at least tempered -- by too many chefs, a too-heavy reliance on polls or focus groups and an aversion to risks. As a result, the message often is muddled and the reaction to hard-hitting attacks from Republicans often is slow and unconvincing," [Al] Hunt wrote.

Offhand, I'd say they're over that risk-aversion thing.

I'm not sure you're asking the pertinent question in this thread. The REAL question is, why is CBS, and the powers that be at 60 Minutes, not doing their homework? I have no idea where the documents came from, but how in the heck could a major news network come out with such a big "teaser" for a major story, without having their facts straight.
I'll give you an example of the impact of this hit piece. A friend of mine, who is "iffy" about who they are going to vote for sent me an email this morning. He talked about not having any respect for Kerry, but yet he had heard that 60 Minutes had proof that President Bush had not fulfilled his military duties. Thus, in his mind, neither candidate deserves his vote.
Obviously, this could have an impact on potential voters. If CBS and 60 Minutes don't have their facts straight, they need to be held accountable.

Hillary will jump in. SOme of us think that JF Kerry is a plant, and that he will bow out in the weeks leading up to November, and that Hillary will do her best to try and be a man by taking control of the Democratic ticket. An act, to be sure, but an act that will convince the Dems and many Reps as well. The bottom line is that she will look like a hero, and she will claim the minority AND liberal votes. Then we have a contest again. Kerry is a dead man talking.
