CBS? The Kerry campaign? MoveOn.org? The White House? The mafia?
I agree, parallel, with you:
The person(s) that created the documents reviewed in detail other documents in a way that the wording found on the forged ones would be believable. They new photoshop fairly well, but not well enough I guess.
They knew how to get them to CBS. Media connections.
Desperation not only prompted these memos to be created, but also fooled the creator(s) into thinking they would pass the smell test.
We see here the profile of someone savvy enough to attempt a convincing forgery; covering some bases, but not enough.
But not desparation - instead, overconfidence. They firmly believed that the prestige of having these appear on 60 Minutes, Dan Rather, and the power of the MSM over the minds of The Sheep, would get The Lie out in time.
At the very same time the Move-On brigade is out running the anti-Bush National Guard ads out come these memos.
I totally agree! It's part of the full-court press that The Party must attempt to regain their power. And I'm suspecting there's much more to come.
this hits hard at the Media, the left's 527 effort and Kerry campaigns.
The next week will tell. I am not optimistic. The MSM is far too adept at sending things down the Memory Hole. That, coupled with the short attention spans of The Sheep, and they could very well have this buried come Nov. 2nd.

The more I read and see the more it is obvious that CBS wanted to be fooled. There are so many holes in these documents it isn't funny. Are we supposed to believe that CBS reports all its news this sloppily? Or just in this case where they obviously have an agenda.

Let the record note that the Kerry campaign was "risk-averse" before the big staff shake-up, then the buzz among the democrats was "it's time to get mean", then CBS gets caught with forged documents which would greatly help the Kerry campaign if they were authentic.
The sudden appearance of the forgeries and the new, meaner faces in the Kerry campaign may not be unconnected.

Former military officer. Hmmmm. CBS says they checked with people (plural) who saw the documents at the time they were created. Hmmmm. How many possible people could that be, considering they were private memos?
