ANOTHER UPDATE: A media contact emails: "ABC'S NIGHTLINE DOING THE forgeries tonight, and their experts say most likely forgeries. CBS had serious meetings this evening over this."
I'll bet they did. . . .

Call him to take over the anchor's chair. Spread some butter and jam on Rather, he's toast.
Watch out, FALLOUT COMING!
Not yet. They cannot stop her from speaking in tongues.
See, LG, told you they say it on FR! :)
I'll bet this casts a huge shadow of doubt on the Kitty Kelly book as well. I don't think Freepers are the only ones who can smell a skunk a mile away. An awful lot of Americans are smarter than the MSM gives them credit for.
Are you watching the replay of the AFC championship tonight?
I always figured that the MSM would keep going with the "Bush lied about his National Guard service" line themselves until it blew up big in somebody's face. Now they'll be only too happy to devour their competition. Maybe they'll simply kill each other off and we won't have to do a thing.
I guess I'll have to watch Nightline for the first time in many years. However, I'm not convinced that koppel will say the docs are forged. More likely, he'll say some right-wingers are "claiming" forgery, and follow up with a hit piece on Cheney.
Happiness is the MSM melting in the evening.
Of course.
Have the Bush people figured out that these documents are forged. I saw earlier that they had given two of the documents to the media as authentic---but admitted that they got them from CBS. Are the Bush people now saying that they are forgeries?
really really good one, Chief!
The thing that is starting to creep into my thoughts is how could CBS fall for this? I know they are bias, I know they have an agenda, I know Rather works for the DNC (without pay of course) but within an hour or so of those docs being posted here last night popular opinion was that they were forged. It wasn't that hard to figure out and it's starting to make me suspicious, like there is some fine print we should be reading before we sign off.
After what Harkin said today...based on these memos, I'd say that it is a disaster. And now that the media seems to be really interested in records and memos again...I'd say it's a perfect time to get to those Kerry records. PS. CBS news' radio newsbreak just now also questioned the veracity of the documents, as they mentioned some woman and ABC. This is really heating up.
I wonder how how much free media President Bush is getting out of the forged TANG letter.
I have to ask: How are the troglodytes over at DU.com handling this?
"Tonight we're going to look at two issues, separate but related. The first centers on new questions about whether or not President Bush really did complete his service in the National Guard. Our friends over at CBS News were the first to report on new documents that raise new questions about President's service. One of his former superiors, who is now deceased, wrote a memo to his file saying that then-Lt.Bush apparently disobeyed a direct order in not undergoing a required physical. The White House fired back of course. Chris Bury will report on the new documents, coming out at the same time as a new ad campaign by a group calling itself Texans for Truth. Sound familiar? Of course. Does this issue resonate with the voters?"
No mention of questions about the authenticity of the CBS documents. They did include the reminder that because of the football game, NIGHTLINE on the east coast would be delayed.
I bet she can say that perfectly in 5 languages.
Funny halftime.
