ANOTHER UPDATE: A media contact emails: "ABC'S NIGHTLINE DOING THE forgeries tonight, and their experts say most likely forgeries. CBS had serious meetings this evening over this."
I'll bet they did. . . .

Dan will need a carload of Depends.
hehehe
Dan Rather has become Geraldo Rivera. A joke with no credibility.
"Cut & Run" Kerry told Tim Russert in an interview that he would release all military records, and I think it calls Russert's credibility into question since he refuses to follow up with Kerry campaign to obtain those records.
it'll be blamed on Rove, either way it's a blast to see them step in it., now when the sh_ _ starts to fly, over stolen valor, etc., RNC can just repeat...Look how the Dems, went after Bush on false reports.
Much better...lol
It's too late. The entire CBS News organization is corrupt and has a severe pro-Dem political agenda. Their only hope is to completely clean house and bring in new personnel from outside.
Deb I like your observation that Sidney Vicious was WAY ahead of this story.

Is there ever?
Raze the alphabet networks in the public good and start over...
Barry Goldwater won a defamation suit. It can be done, but it is not the Bush style.
The Bush style is to feed them rope and let them hang themselves.
Thanks so much for the link! I'm no expert on when superscripts became available and whether the ANG used such machines. But I do know a lot of questionable documents are being waved by the likes of Dan Rather and others. I'll wait on see on this one.
Russert has no credibility...
His pop sounds like a solid guy though...poor Tim was the first to go to university...and look what that did to the good Catholic boy!
Forgot about the football game. You may be right :(
Another FReeper pointed out that those Kerry documents for decorations "signed" by John Lehman, Navy Secretary during the Reagan years, looks like it was forged by the same person. There is something in Kerry's military records that will end his political career, and he's doing everything imaginable to make sure nobody sees it.
What better way than to send people chasing Bush's military records? It's a red herring.
If the forgery is traced to somebody close to Kerry or his military records become public, he'll have to stand down his candidacy and let the DNC pick a replacement.
Thanks for the info.
The latest facts I've read are that the memo has 13 point line spacing, which typewriters didn't have and that the August 18, 1973 memo refers to getting pressure from General Staudt, who resigned in 1972.
The image I linked to has been removed, so here is my post again with an image I made from the original file. It's hard to tell if the superscript is underlined or not.
The second line has 111th with the superscript th, and was dated 1968. All the rest have 111th with no superscript. They were obviously written on different typewriters at different times, but it obviously was possible to get a superscript in 1968, as these are official docs. Not that there is no proportional spaced fonts.
Here's a link to the doc from the records Bush released. see page 3: http://www.usatoday.com/news/bushdocs/9-Miscellaneous.pdf
I fully expect that Nightline will rehash all of the false allegations about President Bush and the National Guard, and then mention only as a postscript that the latest CBS documents are alleged to be forgeries, then move on to bashing the speech given by Vice President Cheney. Ted Koppel can not be trusted to do straight reporting on this - he will insist on turning it into a he said/she said/both sides have dirty hands/can't we just get along farce of a report.
Oh, I do.
This is all too easy.
Did you read his piece for the Guardian? He sure didn't waste any time contacting his Leftists pals in the UK so the Brits could enjoy GW's downfall. He's such a pig.
So, when is 60 MINUTES going to do an expose of 60 MINUTES?
