Was it bad forgery by intent, or by incompetence?

Forging military documents is a federal felony. Intent and incompetence don't figure into the sentencing calculations.

I'm not sure I buy into the whole Bill/Hill '08 subterfuge, but if I was into conspiracy theories, how ABC deals with this story would tell me a lot.

It's easy to buy into the '08 subterfuge (though none of the RAT candidates this year was that strong to begin with); it's the Torch Redux conspiracy that is a harder sell (until, at least potentially, tonight). If Koppel and Company eat C-BS's lunch and start naming names, I'd start looking for a change in the RAT ticket (and no, I don't mean Breck Girl headed to the top).

You might not see it at all. They're running a football game on ABC and they tend to run long. It wouldn't surprise me if ABC were to chicken out and cancel tonight's Nightline.

I have a feeling that CNN will lead the vanguard tommorow of being duped and being harsh towards CBS, they know its there reputations on the line as well with this by perpetuating a proven myth.

Lot's of talk about the liberal media meltdown. I read Bozell's book earlier this summer and didn't quite buy-in to his predictions of their self destruction, but this is a big. The amateur level to which these guys have sunk is just outrageous. I mean my 10 year old niece would question the authenticity of these documents for crying out loud. Literally, they are blind. A part of me still questions whether this is just too ridiculous to be true and when the next shoe is going to drop. 60 Minutes has long been a joke to me, but to many, especially the dyed-in-the-wool old Democrats and other assorted geriatrics, the show (and brother Dan) is still something of an icon. This is going to hurt
