UPDATE 12: In the August 18, 1973 memo "discovered" by 60 Minutes, Jerry Killian purportedly writes:
Staudt has obviously pressured Hodges more about Bush. I'm having trouble running interference and doing my job. But wait! Reader Amar Sarwal points out that General Staudt, who thought very highly of Lt. Bush, retired in 1972.
The more I look at these "memos," the more obvious it appears that they are inept forgeries.

Great post! Great blog! Thanks!
THAT is the question. I think it is time to demand answers from MSM on every lie they print or electronically transmit. This is sick
Priceless...:))
You ever hear Rush's "gravitas" montage?
The Spokane Spokesman-Review.com piece from March 14, 2004, makes it sound like Bush admitted to using illegal drugs until 1974. My recollection of the 2000 campaign is that he never admitted to anything, but made a denial which covered the period at least back to 1974 (for some reason that was a significant year).
OOPS! Misty, I forgot to thank you for the ping. WHAT A GREAT PING!
I go to happy hour for a little while and ANOTHER shoe drops? What did Rather say on CBS news tonight?
OMG Meek! I will NOT be able to sleep tonight with that visual in my head! ROFLMAO! That is too funny!LOL! Sorry 'bout that. Here, try this. Maybe this will help you sleep tonight. :^D
CBS only wanted the story to survive through the evening news cycle so that millions would hear "Bush Lied!" before making a muffled retraction sometime in the future. And they will never say where they came from or who authenticated them, in order to protect "sources".
Are you watching Hannity and Colmes??
Geraldine if BOLD FACE LYING!!
You are very welcome. I love it when the rats get caught!
FoxNews mentioned that these types of memos almost CERTAINLY were done on TYPEWRITERS back in 1972. And its almost impossible to fathom that any office had a word processor that could do both PROPORTIONAL SPACING back then AND smaller font superscripts.
Fox is right. These documents could NOT have been done on a word processor in 1972, but there is ANOTHER ANGLE that I haven't heard yet...
And way back in 1972, computers were so rare and huge they sat in large airconditioned rooms and everyone had to time-share them!
These are ABSOLUTELY FORGERIES. CBS shall be hanged.
Sure was. I had my braces removed that year. In October.
I'm doing good. They just put Nader back on the ballot here so that is a good thing! Believe me, if Oregon goes for Bush I will take all the credit. :-)
Now that you seem to have pulverized the forgeries, what can we Freepers do about vote fraud??
OH GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ. SOME EXPERTS!!!!!!!!!!! SHAME ON CBS!!!!!
So now danny has to find, and fast, experts willing to lie, experts who hate GW, experts willing to say they vetted the memo and the spokeswoman got it wrong!
If this was a forgery-I hope it hits the newswave tomorrow like a bomb!
Kerry and his band of whores are really screwing themselves these days.
Glad to be of service. :) I think Brit Hume will do a good job. We have some good people on our side who have a lot of integrity. I just watched the segment on Hannity and Colmes with Geraldine Ferraro. What a friggen hag she was tonight! The one thing the dems really know how to do is yell and scream and try to change the subject or spin, spin, spin! It makes me sick.
Nobody uses the 'DEAD' as well as the democrats do.
