There is. It's the one that has Kerry trailing an Orangatang by 2 points based on the question, "Who would you trust to hold a banana for you?"

As the campaign enters its last eight weeks, a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll taken Friday through Sunday shows Bush at 52%, Kerry at 45% and independent candidate Ralph Nader at 1% among likely voters. Before the convention, Bush led Kerry by 2 percentage points.
Among registered voters, Bush was at 48%, Kerry at 46% and Nader at 4%.

September 7, 2000... In the poll conducted September 4-6, Gore appears to have a slight edge I think this is the most relevant poll...At the sme time in the last election, Gore was ahead and then lost. The current polls tell us nothing other than we MUST work harder.

I don't think Kerry has ever busted 50% in Gallup has he?
To: KQQL
I'll take the 7 point lead. There was a undeniable bounce (after the pundits said there wouldn't be) but not enough of a lead to get overconfident about.
The poll chart is up at:

It's very interesting (and encouraging) that the Time, Newsweak AND Gallup polls have the President at exactly 52%.

Bush's lead may be higher than 7 points, since weekend-holiday polls don't show as well for republicans.
To: KQQL
Nader will not be factor, so add his numbers to kerry Not all of them. Many Nader votes are being cast against "the system" and will not go to either major party candidate.

My 2 cents: Don't get mad @ me, get Glade.
------
Right now W's average approval ratings is 50.6% from last 10 polls (Dem/GOP don't count). The max W will get over his average approval rating is 0.5%.
So: If the election were held today, the approx election results would be.
W/O Nader
Bush 51.1%
Kerry 47.9%
Others 1.0%
Bush 51.1%
Kerry 46.9%
Nader 1.1%
Others 0.9%

Nope, you can't do that! Maybe some small percentage might swing dim, but anarchists, and greenies HATE the dims almost as much as they hate us. Particularly kerry.

My local paper, Tacoma's "The News Tribune," had an article, this Labor Day, entitled "Bush's 1972-73 Military Files Still AWOL." This article had six 5-1/4 column inches of space used for this article. They have chewed on every shred of information given forth by the government. In this latest article, by Associated Press reporter, Matt Kelly, a litany of records are listed that they think should be available but the Air National Guard never had any policy to keep. Because of this, the Associated Press thinks this is a conspiracy to deceive for the President.
They end the article with statements by various veterans assigned to the 187th Alabama Air National Guard Unit. This comment was in the article: "Walls, the Air Force combat veteran, was assigned to the 187th in 1972 and 1973 to train with its pilots to fly the F-4 Phantom. Walls and more that a dozen other members of the 187th say they never saw Bush." This statement would be more accurate if it said 'they don't remember seeing Bush.'
It is very interesting that the Associated Press has been instrumental in this investigative effort to find the President AWOL. And, because the record keeping at that time was sketchy, poor memories and half digested documents are being used to paint a picture of our President as AWOL. They have learned to turn the points of information that paint the lies into fine art posed as truth.

No Nader? If Nader were included, Bush would be up even more! MMmm. Was Nader included in those Time and Newsweek polls?

The other very encouraging news in this poll is that W's job approval ratings have gone up as well.
In the August 25 poll, they were at 49 - 47. Today they stand at 52 - 46.

These are the "mild" accusations in this larry flynt financed book. I will not repeat the vile accusations leveled against EVERY member of the Bush family. This woman will BURN IN HELL!!! LIES OF SATAN, BY SPAWN OF SATAN!

10%. That's a solid lead. Bush needs to keep virtually all of it to get a mandate in November.

One of our freepers yesterday produced a very detailed analysis in which he eliminated what was an apparent "overweighting" of Republican voters in the Time/Newsweek poll which reported an 11% spread by Bush over Kerry. By eliminating the overweighting he showed that the actual statistical spread was more like 8%. This CNN poll seems to support his argument. Like others, I believe the Time/Newsweek overweighting was a deliberate attempt to artificially inflate the difference so that in subsequent polls they could excitedly claim that Kerry was, "closing the gap" by making a miraculous comeback.
