When your world is caving in, when everything looks grim, ignore the overall polls and focus on those segments that lean your way.
That was CBS' obvious strategy, on display in the Evening News just now.
I'll preface this by saying that, I *swear*, I virtually never watch the broadcast networks' evening news shows, but I was at loose ends and curious to see how the MSM was handling things . . .
Obviously it would have been too painful for The Network of Rather to focus on the devastating news coming from the Time and Newsweek polls that reveal that the Kerry campaign is cratering.
So CBS chose to focus on one of the few demographics that lean heavily in Kerry's favor: single women. When your world is collapsing around you, it must feel good to display graphics showing that, by a margin of 62% to 28%, single women . . . well, frankly I can't remember exactly what the question was, but it was favorable to Kerry.
Then there were the anectdotal interviews. One in particular was featured with, I must say, a good-looking young woman who was concerned, very concerned, about the direction our country is taking, and all the money that is being wasted (on fighting the war on terrorism) that could be spent giving her - I don't know, some new welfare benefit.
Well, if it makes CBS feel better, I guess it's OK.
"Tomorrow on the CBS Evening News - could the crucial black homosexual demographic decide this race?" ;-)
Kerry also has the transgender pacific islander vote locked up 92-7-1.
I don't know if Bush will be able to overcome that big a gap in this important demo and still win.
Does anybody....still watch...CBS evening news?
Kinda neat to have an entire political party praying for our soldiers to die and/or return maimed to the states so they can exploit them and for people to lose their jobs.
Simply frickin Beautiful....
Isn't 60 Minutes supposed to do some anti-Bush hit piece tonight?
We're in Florida, so all we're getting on all the stations is hurricane coverage...but it's better than Dan Rather and 60 Minutes!
Tell me about it! I was looking at the internals for recently-released felons in states that permit them to vote, and it looks grim, grim I tell ya!
I'm watching 60 Minutes for those purposes. The first segment is about big media corporations that distribute porno via hotel channels and pay per view TV.
When we see Kerry burning down the village, I think he will lose a lot of the female vote.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Fewer every day, glad to say.
governs sometimes ventures into enemy territory in order to report back. This is one of those times.
"Does anybody....still watch...CBS evening news?"
Not in my house.
And that's the way it is ...
I thought they cancelled this sitcom and it was now only showing in reruns...
Kerry is an anchor and the USA has tossed him overboard. The media has their leg caught up in the rope though. If they don't cut the cord, they will go down with him.
SeeBS in the tank for Kerry, what a shocker.
Fantastic metaphor!
CBS "News" has no credibility whatsoever, but then again neither does NBC or ABC. Propaganda organs all.
Damn, how can he stand it? It must be horrible......
Sorry to pile on folks but the Dems got the dead pets vote sewed up in Illinois.
