THE full horror of the Russian school atrocity began to emerge yesterday as traumatised children told horrific tales of stabbed babies and brutal rapes.
It has also emerged that scores of the 323 who died - including many children - had been shot in the back.
While despairing soldiers and rescue workers moved among the growing pile of body bags, it was revealed that an 18-month-old baby had been repeatedly stabbed by a black-clad terrorist who had run out of ammunition.
Other survivors told how screaming teenage girls were dragged into rooms adjoining the gymnasium where they were being held and raped by their Chechen captors who chillingly made a video film of their appalling exploits
They said children were forced to drink their own urine and eat the petals off the flowers they had brought their teachers after nearly three days without food or water in the stifling hot gym.
Their stories came as Russian officials warned that the final death toll of the siege of Middle School No 1 at Beslan in North Ossetia - in which up to 1,200 people were held captive - was likely to be more than 400.
The official toll yesterday stood at 323 which included 156 children, 10 Russian soldiers and two emergency service workers - 35 of the hostage-takers were also killed. Last night 434 people were being treated in hospital with 247 children and 85 adults in a critical condition.
A Russian official said six seriously injured children had been taken to Moscow for treatment.
"One of them is a child, just 18 months old, with many knife wounds," he said.

The Chechens will rue the day their sub-human brethren and sisters did this to children. No one in the world (except perhaps Ramsey Clark) will want the Russkies to have any mercy on these pieces of inhuman excrement.

I did not realize that the Newsmedia had refused to inform the public of this.
The public must be informed. The people of the world must understand what we are up against.
These monsters would be glad to do this to Americans--or to children anywhere. The only thing that will stop them is force. The people of the world must understand this.

When that time comes, either we as a people will realize (and demand) that we are the front lines, and that the people must be armed so they can interdict these things as they happen...or we will bow to governmnet moves to drastically increase our "Security" by disarmning the people and turnig it all over to the government security aparatus...which cannot protect us from this type of thing, only react to it.
I pray that we can wake up beforte then, and that we can do the right thing (ala the Home Guard in Dragon's Fury)

They believe that ANY non-Muslim is an infidel. Infidels MUST be killed. End of belief. It is truly very simple, as it MUST be for people who are prevented from any sort of educational opportunities. When a grown man has the education level of a first grader, you must keep your ideology and instructions to them VERY SIMPLE.
How they do it is of no consequence.
Age is of no consequence.
Position is of no consequence. They would kill even someone as high as the Pope is they could get to him.
A non-Muslim is to be erased from the face of the earth in their cult. This has been so indoctrinated that they don't believe there is anything else.
There is no making treaties with them. They laugh at the childishness of nations who have evolved past the 6th century. They take pride in lying in any treaty or agreement. They cherish the ability to fool all or any part of the civilized world over and over again.

You just put your finger on it. I am very disturbed at the lack of coverage in the US television press. Its wall to wall hurricane coverage, which is something that happens every year, just like clockwork.
This massacre is in many ways Russia's 9/11, although I will grant that it is not their first. But it is extremely important in what it tells us about the nature of our enemy.
I have been surfing the channels looking for coverage, and the only channel to treat it with any importance at all is the Canadian news channel. I usually find them to be far too left-leaning for my taste, but the fact remains that they are the only ones to focus on Beslan.
I find this shocking, and it worries me. It explains a lot. We at this site tend to be news junkies, and we usually have a good feel for what is going on around us. But the average person depends on Fox or CNN, and if they didn't cover it, it didn't happen.
I keep waiting for Bush to speak, but so far he has not mentioned it as far as I am aware. I hope I'm wrong. But for him to remain silent would be equivalent to remaining silent after the fall of the World Trade Center. It would be unthinkable to treat it as a non-event.
And so far, we are treating it as if it didn't happen.

Thanks for this.I'm trying to keep a chronicle for my children when they are older so that when the history is revised in some way to minimize this threat, they can still understand what went on and who the true enemy was.
I can't believe that a diminishing hurricane, Bill Clinton's heart, and other ephemera are obscuring the coverage of this event. If this kind of barbarism is not reason to fight a war, what is?
