The leftwing news media hyped the leftwing march in New York in a predictable manner. "We the People Say No to Bush" was the lead headline in Salon.com. "Vast Anti-Bush Rally Greets Republicans in New York," was the lead headline in The New York Times. "Anti-Bush Protesters Fill NY Streets," was the lead in The Los Angeles Times. An opening rally for the President led by Vice President Dick Cheney, former NY Mayor Rudi Giuliani and New York Governor George Pataki was buried in both Times and ignored by Salon.
Which raises the interesting question, Who are the "people?" If the American people are 95% college age scruffians who think their leaders are war criminals, maybe Salon has a point. The NY Times actually conflated the street radicals with the Democratic Party itself calling the march "a heavily Democratic street protest." According to the Times, "the marchers carried placards calling Mr. Bush 'the next Milosevic'" referring to a head of state currently in dock before a War Crimes Tribunal. The marchers also could be heard chanting "Fox News sucks."
The Times has a point. The Democratic Party has nominated a man who indicted his whole country, including its highest officials as war criminals more than thirty years ago. The Democratic Party leadership has accused the President of "lying" to conduct a war that was unnecessary in order to line the pockets of his friends. Although neither Times mentions the fact (since they share the agendas of the marchers) the organizers of the protests in New York are the same anti-American, totalitarian-sympathizing radicals who organized the anti-Vietnam protests back then, and who willingly helped the Communists to power on the grounds that America was the greater evil.
The result was the slaughter of two and half million people by the Communists in the first three years of the "peace." American "progressives" did not hold a single street march or protest of this genocide by their erstwhile allies. Having learned nothing in their political lives from the atrocities they sponsored, they are as self-righteous as ever. Now they are proposing the same solution -- American withdrawal -- for the war on terror in Iraq. If they are successful -- and electing Democrats is the surest way to make them successful -- there will be another bloodbath. This bloodbath will take place in Fallujah and Najaf, where the supporters of freedom will suffer a savage fate; but it will also take place in Washington and New York, where Islamic radicals will not make fine distinctions as to who were their enemies and who their progressive brothers and sisters.

Oh, and as Rush Limbaugh has pointed out, you didn't see one American flag flying. The only such flags in evidence were draped on the coffins paraded to represent the American dead. Obviously Bush killed them, and the terrorists are just figments of rightwing imaginations. The symbolism is all too clear. The American flag is useful to tug at American heartstrings when you want Americans to surrender. Otherwise its the flag of empire -- the enemy.
According to Barack Obama in his DNC speech "Tonight, we gather to affirm the greatness of our nation not because of the height of our skyscrapers, or the power of our military, or the size of our economy."
A typical liberal, he fails to recogize that our freedoms ONLY exist due to the power of our military.
When will the Left see who they really are.
I am at a loss. My Mom went and saw Moore's propaganda film and believes EVERYTHING in it. She is now an affirmed Bush hater, I almost threw her out of my house but she did give birth to me.
I really do not understand how almost half of the country has bought into the Moore camp.
That's a powerful article. Thanks for posting it.
ping...
Which explains why in the life of an Inuit family "Mom" would taken out and left on an ice flow.
To what DID he owe America's greatness to, then? I didn't hear his speech.
Great post! Bump.
Be gentle with your mom. Don't ever take a frontal assault on a liberal. You have to be very careful when choosing words. Logic is hard for them. They are the children of mind control. Go easy.
Diversity.
Yes, I had the same thought when I read it. I hadn't thought of the Vietnam/Iraq parallel before, but there certainly are similarities... I mean, in the left's response to the two conflicts. I trust Iraq will NOT meet the same fate.
"I really do not understand how almost half of the country has bought into the Moore camp."
Half wasn't.
Because MANY in the media/press holds them up as truth tellers
Walter Cronkite, to so-called trusted journalist did the same thing in the Vietnam War
The truth is .. THESE PEOPLE LIED TO US
He also told me that liberty and freedom come first.
I agreed. He said he is just about done with his Party, at least at the National level.
I cant say for sure but my guess is he is voting for Bush.
Larry Elders web site had (don't know if it's still there) a wonderful, well written, point-by-point rebuttal to F9-11. It was written by a 17-year-old girl. I would get a copy and read it to your mother.
We'll have a better idea in November.
Yes he is a poster boy for the left .. they are using him and will spit him out to the curb when they have no more use for him
... and the leftist heirs to that throne are doing the same for the Iraq conflict. Hint: Abu Ghraib.
But this isn't 1968 anymore and they won't get away with it again
