Savage is going ballistic on Islamofascist terrorists, tune him in if you can. He took a call from a supporter of Chechnya's actions, and said perhaps Putin could say he was justified in dropping a nuke on Mecca, if it is indeed a world war. If the islamofascists can defend this type of terrorism as "defensive" (in the mind of the caller) then Putin could say the same thing about using nukes to finish it once and for all.

This is a bit confusing, are you asking if I would resist the destruction of terrorists? Or if I would resist an idiotic attempt to "quarantine" 1/6th of the human race and deport citizens who have done nothing but exercise their religious freedom?

If out society comes to the realization that we have to fight terrorizm how ever possible, you would fight against it?

I will not stoop to butchery. I would not even consider any of the other aforementioned options unless things got unbearably bad. Resorting to martial law or tearing up the Constitution is not something that anyone should even consider under normal circumstances, and even post-9/11 it's not in the cards.

I think that the options we have exercised have been quite adequate so-far. Afghanistan and Iraq were necessary, but pressing the war against Al-Quaeda is now a mostly political job with limited military action to back it up. Nuking Mecca would be an idiotic provocation.

Muslims adhere to the Five Pillars, and Mecca is indeed their holiest city. But like Catholicism, the religion would not die if Mecca were destroyed. Muslims would simply adjust to the new reality. They aren't going to give up believing in Allah simply because Mecca is destroyed. The Five Pillars would still apply, an short of destroying every reference to Islam in the world you couldn't destroy that.

It would make sense. Look at the pattern of prior al-Queda bases: Sudan, Afghanistan, the tribal areas of Pakistan. Places where there are Muslims without an effective central government to hassle al-Queda, where they can BECOME the effective government. That's al-Queda's long-term objective: to BECOME the government of Islam
