If Mecca were nuked, it would be rebuilt and a new Ka'ba consecrated on the spot where the old one stood. Nuking Mecca would accomplish nothing besides creating all the necessary ingredients for a true world war which would only end with the destruction of Russia.

Are you just ignorant or worse? The Ka'aba can't be rebuilt -- it holds the "holy" meteor, the black stone that supposedly fell from heaven. It's been worshipped for millenia by moon god cults. You destroy that and what travis said works out. Read up a bit aboutIslam before spouting nonsense -- the Koran requires that every Muslime make a trip to Makkah once in a lifetime, that every Muslime shoudl hold the peninsular Arabs as the epitome of life (so, even though Pakis, Iraiqs, Egyptians, Syrians etc are not arab, they want to believe they are).
