646 vicitms of terrorist act in Beslan hospitalized.

03.09.2004, 22.00

“The former hostages are receiving therapy in mobile hospitals and clinics of Beslan and Vladikavkaz,” the source said.

Some 130 wounded people, including children, are in the Vladikavkaz clinic. The republican clinic has 38 patients, including five children, with the severest wounds and traumas, and the children’s clinic of Vladikavkaz has admitted 186 children.

Eighty adults are receiving therapy in the airmobile hospital, 200 in the medical emergency clinic, 32 in the republican clinic, two in the military hospital of Vladikavkaz, and four in the first town hospital of Vladikavkaz.

The town hospital of Beslan has admitted 98 adults, two were sent to the defense ministry hospital in Vladikavkaz, and one is in the Ardon town hospital.

“The majority of patients have bullet wounds in the back,” the sources said.

The storming of the school, was not prepared, the Russian president’s adviser Aslambek Aslakhanov told reporters on Friday. “We were getting ready for dialogue in order to avoid spilling blood,” he said.

Aslakhanov arrived in Beslan by air to take part in negotiation with the hostage takers.

According to Aslakhanov, “ the terrorists demanded the withdrawal of the troops from Chechnya and the release of all the people who had been arrested for attacking the security agencies of Ingushetia on June 22.”

Aslakhanov said seven to 30 terrorists had been in the captured school. There were representatives of various ethnic groups in the gang. It was fully international, he said.

The number of those killed in the Beslan hostage crisis may by far exceed 150," Aslakhanov said.

Seventy-nine victims of the hostage crisis were identified by 9:15 p.m. Moscow time, head of the Federal Security Service’s North Ossetian department and the crisis center Valery Andreyev said.

“Unfortunately, the death rate is mounting,” he said adding that the operation against the terrorists is going on.

Neither will we when the same thing happens here.

It won't happen here because it's illegal to have a gun on school property.

But I'm no expert. Are you?

I'm no expert either but the poster who said "arm the teachers" sounded good to me. However I believe that teachers as a group (In general) are a liberal lot and you would never get them to go along with it.

How about some civic minded and gun totin' volunteers in the schools?

It just might make these murdering bastards think twice before attacking our children.

Hey. President Bush offerred help. I have a feeling we might have handled things differently. But I'm no expert. Are you?

Anyone with a brain could see from the beginning that this was going to have a bad end unless the Russians conceded to the terrorists demands.

What do you think we could have done differently?

Hey. President Bush offerred help.

I think Bush is going to do much more; I anticipate that he will shortly journey to Russia to cement an alliance against terrorism. It will be both a brilliant strategic and political move.

The storming of the school, was not prepared... We were getting ready for dialogue in order to avoid spilling blood,” he said.

This is the best statement I've yet seen of our need for President Bush's style of leadership. Take the fight to them. Do not wait for the enemy to attack us. Offense.

This was the best plan Putin could come up with?

Don't be a John Kerry and complain without stating what you think he should have done? Details, please.

When will we see the Washington Post, CBS, et al do round the clock coverage of these war crimes?

What if the teachers had been trained and armed?

Great idea. Could have saved a lot of childrens lives. Could you imagine the howling in this country from Kerry and the NEA if that were suggested for US schools?

My thought too. I don't want teachers armed. I'm about to become one. I wouldn't be one of the liberals, but I don't want to have a loaded gun with me. I don't know what I would fear the most--terrorists or mentally unbalanced students, or teachers like the ones we've got carrying a loaded weapon. While I agree something needs to be done, this is not the way to go.

Well, he could have used poison gas like in the Moscow theatre incident...

Unfortunately he didn't have enough medical people on hand or more hostages may have survived. Its unfortunate that there isn't a good way to deal with these types of situations.

Did Putin retaliate after the theater incident, I don't recall.

Who the heck is blaming him? I asked a question. Someone filled in some the pieces. It seems it wasn't a plan at all, but a reaction. Take a break..

"it's illegal to have a gun on school property."

Such ridiculous laws institutionalize child endangerment.

that was a synthetic morphine gas was it not....a bit too concentrated apparently.

Bingo. Anesthetists have trouble with one patient under very carefully controlled and monitored conditions. Losing 120 out of 700+ is not bad for the conditions the Russians faced.

And they killed ALL the islamoscum.

Write your local newspaper and call your local radio and TV stations to demand that we start arming our teachers

For starters demand that they stop calling them Chechen rebels. They're Islamic terrorists!
