Protesters Allege 9/11 Terror Attacks Were Government Conspiracy
CNSNEWS.com ^ | 9/03/04 | Marc Morano

New York (CNSNews.com) - On the final day of the Republican National Convention, protesters gathered where the World Trade Center once stood to allege a massive government conspiracy and cover-up regarding the terror attacks of September 11, 2001.

The protest, which was part of the official "counter convention calendar" of events, alleged that the U.S. government needed an excuse to seize power in America, and it either allowed the terror attacks to happen or was actively involved in them.

The afternoon event, sponsored by 911truth.org, was called "Vigil For Truth at Ground Zero."

"[9/11] was an inside job, a fraud, a scam, equivalent of the [burning] of the Reichstag that led to a reign of terror across Nazi Europe. And it seems like that's what is happening now," protestor David Hylander told CNSNews.com.

The burning of the Reichstag, Germany's parliament building, in 1931 gave Adolph Hitler the opportunity to consolidate his power and suppress civil liberties.

Hylander, from Vermont, carried a sign that featured a photo likeness of President George W. Bush as Osama bin Laden. The sign read, "Wanted for terror, murder: Osama 'Bush' Laden."

The government has served as "the conspirators in this in order to unleash a reign of terror on the planet," Hylander said.

"We have seen stolen elections, the abrogation of international treaties, the escalation of the destruction of the planet" since 9/11, he added.

Hylander sees the "hundreds of billions of military industrial contracts" as the means "to control the world."

"It's just unbelievable that the people are so bought off by the corporate mass media that they're not rising up. Where is the outrage?" he asked.

"Only truth will set us free," agreed protestor Bob Lamming, an unemployed former teacher from New Jersey.

Lamming said that the "evidence points very strongly" to the U.S. government either allowing the terror attacks or actively participating in them.

"It's just unbelievable to me that four airplanes could be hijacked and fly around the Eastern U.S. for two hours without evoking any kind of a military response," Lamming said.

Lamming believes that the government needed another Pearl Harbor-like attack to "prepare for war."

The result of the government's actions since 9/11 include "sacking our national wealth, dismantling our middle class, laying waste to our environment," according to Lamming.

"These people are destroying our country. We need to open peoples' minds up a little bit," he added.

Lamming said that "50 percent of people in New York City don't believe" the official version of events surrounding 9/11.

Andrea Psoras, another protester at the World Trade Center site, said she was near Ground Zero on September 11 when the towers crashed down. Psoras believes that explosives aided the collapse of at least one of the towers.

"I knew I heard explosives," Psoras told CNSNews.com.

"The towers deteriorated symmetrically," she added in an effort to bolster her claim that explosives brought the building down.

Psoras also singled out the "military industrial complex" and the GOP as the primary forces behind the terror attacks. "The Republicans have a propensity to do whatever they can get away with," she said.

'Bush is a simple man'

Later on Thursday, a massive protest took place on 8th Avenue, just a few blocks from the convention center where the GOP convention was being held. The focus of this protest was to remove President Bush from office.

"The world cannot afford four more years of George Bush," Sean Hannon of Connecticut told CNSNews.com.

Hannon does not believe Bush is actually in charge of his presidency. "Bush is a simple man in the wrong job," he said. "The people he put in power - [Attorney General John] Ashcroft, [Vice President Dick] Cheney" are in charge, Hannon said.

The Bush administration is in the "same league of any kind of dictatorship," he added.

Emily Yamasaki of the Freedom Socialist Party said Bush was not to blame for the injustices in the United States.

"It's not Bush as an individual, but it's the capitalist system. It has disenfranchised a majority of people," Yamasaki said.

When asked by CNSNews.com about the failure of socialism in places like Eastern Europe, Yamasaki said, "I don't think that was truly socialism. That was a workers' state, and they tried to establish socialism, but until we have socialism here in the U.S., there will not really be a successful socialist revolution anywhere else," she said.
The protest featured signs that read, "If Bush wins there is no God," "A con job trumps a b*** job: Impeach Bush now," "Swift boat back to Texas," "Prevent unwanted politicians: Practice safe voting techniques," "No Bush, No Dick," "Bush scares me," "Free Iraq from Halliburton," and "Even Nixon was better."

A female speaker from the podium declared, "Everyone hates Bush" as the crowd chanted "RNC go home."

'Stunningly dishonest'

CNSNews.com asked former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich on Thursday what he thought of the convention week protests.

"When you have no facts and you have no issues, you collapse into sheer demagoguery. These are people who are stunningly dishonest and have nothing to offer," Gingrich said.

Two 9/11 conspiracy theorists, meeting one another for the very first time while in New York:

I haven't learned how to post yet, but the Russians have stormed the school, or something like that, as there is now heavy gunfire going 2 ways, plus loud explosions from inside the school, bad outcome here, I'll bet. All out assault. If someone knows how to post, do it now! It's on FOX now!

Oh heck, that 911truth.org site is tame.

Ya really want woo-woo getchertinfoilhaton stuff try Alex Jones' Prison Planet and Alex Jones' Infowars. To really get a headache, start clicking on some of his links. I think on one of the sites is a "Bohemian Grove" link or two. If you don't wind up with side-cramps from laughing, you'll either spend all your time shaking your head, or getting something stiff to drink.

And he's just the tip of the ice berg. I've lost the link, but all this "Bush Knew ... Bush/Cheney/Halliburton Did It" cr@p was originally started by some French guy (yeah, actually ... the guy's French and the web site was in France) who came up with all kinds of reasons why the Pentagon "crash" was really a rocket or guided drone, or whatever.

Ah, it's late at night ... too much for me. Gotta get some rest. But there are people who take this SERIOUSLY and I'm willing to bet that most, if not all of them are staunch Kerry supporters.

actually it is a very common view among the left. (not even far left) In greece the socialists (who are out of power) regualarly make this claim. They probably state it because if they were in power it is what they would do. (kill innocents to solidify their personal power.) IOW business as usual for the left.

Our government allowed the attact to happen, it does not supprise me coming from liberals to come up with something sick like this. Notice how violent the DemoRats are? Look how many were arrested for protesting with hostility and beating up a Police Officer, I'll bet the NYPD didn't take kindly to that. Also did you see how many of those left wing idiots that tried to crash the convention? The liberals have gone so far left that they personify the complete opposite of what America stands for. If the American people vote Kerry in then they deserve him. The Liberals are the epitome of an evil plague that infests our country and they are totally illogical, non commonsensical, anti religious bunch of Baby killers that are a bigger threat to this country than the terrorists and one day they will destroy America from within. Normality is fleeting at the hands of these over zealous Anti American #@&*%"s (expletive) that took God and prayer out of schools. They are tearing down the very essence of what made this country great in the first place. I was watching Ron Reagan Jr. crying about how bad the conservatives are. He's pathetic and a disgrace to the Reagan name. I'll bet Nancy is ashamed of this JERK. Michael Reagan on the other hand is the complete opposite and he was adopted by the Reagan's. It just doesn't make sense, does it?

If this was just a small number of kooks it would be laughable but I heard O'Riley quoting a poll that said 51% of Democrats think the U.S. is to blame for 9/11. Maybe it'll be an upcoming "documentary" on CBS?

IMO this is a direct result of the insane politics of victimhood of the left. Never accept responsibility, always look for someone to blame, whine and play the victim at every opportunity.

just found this so don't attack me for writing it!
The FOX TV series The Lone Gunmen (X-Files spin off) airs their opening episode "Pilot" six months before 9/11 which depicts a secret U.S. government agency behind a plot to crash a Boeing 727 into the WTC via remote control and blame it on foreign terrorists in the hopes of generating a bigger military budget.

Why didn't that media pick up on this bizarre coincidence of life imitating art?  A Boeing 700 series commercial airliner about to crash into the WTC and being blamed on foreign terrorists shown just six months before the real thing happened on a major TV station?   I mean come on?!!

The real irony is that a lot of conspiracy investigators think that this scenario is essentially what really happened on 9/11!

All but the most depraved Islamists have discontinued this line of attack. They are back to preferring a focus on America's support for our friend and ally Israel, the only democracy in the whole mideast. Since the 9/11 "Jewish conspiracy swept the Internet," al Qaeda has attacked in Saudi Arabia, Russia, Spain, Pakistan, and Indonesia. School children in Russia at this very moment are faced with death at the hands of al Qaeda sponsored Chechyen terror. Even Arabs admit that al Qaeda committed 9/11. Everyone knows that a lot of zealots in the mideast agree with al Qaeda and bin Laden. It doesn't require a sick, fascist conspiracy theory to explain why Arabs would want to commit a 9/11 atrocity and worse.

I had the privilege early last evening to hear Gary Bauer speak to a Family Foundation group in my state. During the questioning period, someone asked him about the GOP convention and he told a hair raising story about his own experience with the demonstrators outside. In short, he told us most of those demonstrators were thugs and if such people had turned up at the DNC convention, the convention itself would have been ignored as the media would have covered the outrageous, lawless and dangerous conduct of the demonstrators. It was chilling when he said that if this country is ever invaded by any outside force, these people will join the invaders against America. Even some of the well-dressed demonstrators who hold jobs stated that they approved of Iraqi's killing American soldiers in that country. The media largely ignored these stories. Folks, I never doubted that the leftists hate America..It is "in your face" everywhere and it is really a clash of values. According to Bauer, it is a clash between those who believe in family, work, faith, integrity, honesty, traditional values, etc., as opposed to those who want a nation where anything goes if you can get away with it..where you do what feels good regardless of how destructive it turns out to be. Bauer told us that if we do not win this civil war, the prize for them will be our children. This truly is the most important election of our lifetime. By the way, he had very positive things to say about the convention.
